St . John of Wapping Lodge , No . 1306 . —The regular meeting of this Lodge was held at the Moorgate Tavern , Finsburypavement , E . C , on the 1 st inst . The Lodge is now comfortably established at the above address , where the requirements and convenience of the members are thoroughly attended to by Bros . Kingston and Fromm , whose experience in such matters is evidently

great . That the members appreciate the change may be gathered from the hearty vote of thanks accorded , at the meeting in October , to the W . M . and brethren who formed the Removal Committee , for their unremitting exertions in effecting the transfer of the Lodge from Wapping to its present convenient and accessible quarters . Lodge was opened with great promptitude by the W . M ., who was

supported by the following Officers and brethren : —Bro . T . Wooding kindly acted as S . W ., in the unavoidable absence of Bro . Magrath S . W . ; Bro . Horsley in like manner officiated as J . W . The Deaconry secured capital working at the hands of Bro . T . J . Tyers J . D ., who was assisted by Bros . Clements and Couture . Bro . Twinn again acted as l . G . The P . M . ' s present were Bros . W . H . Hay ward I . P . M .,

Whatling , who was to have been raised to the sublime degree , was unable to be present whilst Lodge was working . After confirmation of the minutes and other routine work , the remaining bnsiness , consisting of the passing of Bros .

T . Phillips , T . Morris and C . East to the Fellow Craft degree , was performed , the working being capitally done , proving that the brethren , most of whom were performing duties higher than they were appointed to in the Lodge , are already proficient for preferment . The brethren were now called off , for a somewhat protracted period , and npon being called on again , the usual hearty greetings

were given , and Lodge was closed . The brethren then sat down to a sumptuous repast which , whilst it contrasted with the good cheer provided on former occasions , served to demonstrate the capabilities of the establishment to provide anything , from a recherche" banquet to a Welsh rarebit , at short notice , with equal satisfaction . The first toast civen after the cloth was cleared

was Loyalty to the Throne and Prosperity to the Craft , which was enthusiastically received . Bro . Dawson Past Master gave the toast of the W . M ., which was heartily received and duly responded to . In toasting the P . M . ' s , the W . M . briefly commented npon the various services which those brethren had rendered to the Lodge . Bro . Dawson had always been pleased to support the chair on all

occasions . Bro . Beck , the Treasnrer , was too well known to make any comment necessary , whilst Bro . Hayward , the I . P . M ., not only took a deep interest in the Lodge , but came a distance of two hundred miles to discharge his duties , while Bro . Coleman was always present to render his services to the Lodge as Organist . The toast of the " Host" was also well received , after the replies of the P . M . 's ,

and suitably acknowledged . In giving the toast of the Visitors , the W . M . assured those brethren the St . John of Wapping Lodge was always pleased to extend a hearty welcome to them . The Visitors present had honoured the Lodge before . In fact , one of the body actually thought Bro . How to be a member . However , they were all heartily welcome , and the brethren , on the invitation of the W . M .,

gave them a hearty " fire . " The Visitors having each responded in snitnble terms , tho Officers were complimented , their proficinnoy in Mnsonic working in the Lodge being dwelt upon as a consequence of the known assiduous attendance at Lodges of Instruction which they all display . Bro . Wooding having responded for the S . W ., Bro . Horsley spoke in praise of the working of his brother Officers , and presaged a capital future . Bros . Tyer , Couture , Holdom , Clements , Twinn ,

& c , also expressed their thanks , and after some singing , the brethren separated in peace and harmony . Bro . Coleman again contributed to this latter feature in his happiest manner , and the songs as a rule were new to tho brethren , so that tbe charm of novelty will perhaps account for the free and jovial nature of the after-dinner proceedings . Besidos the brethren mentioned , there were present Bros . Phillips , East , Morris , Hodgson , Blaney , and Parsons .
