Best , and superintended by Bro . Dawkins . Grace having been said , the W . M ., iu appropriate terms , proposed the Loyal toasts . He was eloquent in praise of tho M . W . G . M . His Eoyal Highness the Prince of Wales , who , whether in

Freemasonry or in any other occupation , was honoured and respected . The Pro Grand Master , the Deputy Grand Master , and rest of the Grand Officers , were dnly honoured , and Bro . Perkins P . M . rose : With feelings of great pleasure ho had to propose the health of tho W . M . All had seen what had been done during his progress in Free , masonry , and he ( Bro . Perkins ) was sare at tho expiration of his

year of office he would still merit their approval . Every member was assured he would do all in his power for the welfare of tho Lodgo . The W . M . thanked Bro . Perkins for tho kind manner he had spoken of him . Ho could see around him faces of many brethren who had worked with him in Freemasonry . He sincerely trusted at tho expiration of his year of office to hear tho samo expressior . 3 ,

' s was noxt given ; they were all good and true men , and thoso who were absent wero equally worthy of regard . Tho W . M . referred to the individual qualifications of each ; ho had great pleasure in proposing the toast , and with it wonld associate the name of the brother who had inst left tho chair . All

had heard of the manner in which tho I . P . M . had discharged his dnty ; he had mnch pleasure in placing on his breast tho jewel he so well merited . Bro . Perkins had passed the chair of this influential Lodge with every satisfaction , and ho trusted he might live long to wear this mark of esteem . Bro . Perkins most cordially thanked tho W . M . for his kind expressions , aud the manner tho toast had been

recived by tho brothreu ; ho felt it a great honour to he ranked among the P . M . ' s of the Lodge , which was one of the most honoured in tho Craft . Iln hoped to hand tho jewel to his children , who would sen with pride the manner in which their father was respected in the Lodge . Bro . Aricus also acknowledged the toast . Tho health of tho Initiates was now given , and they severally responded . The

W . M . then proposed the health of the Visitors . They had tho pleasure of greeting twenty-sis visitors . The Lodge was glad to see among them so many distinguished brethren . He hoped tho members wonld givo a hearty reception to tho toast . Bro . Thrnpp P . G . S . returned thanks , and was followed by Bro . Gardner . The next toast which the W . M . called on tho members to honour was

tho Wardens , Bros . Waylett and G . H . Goodey . Bro . Waylett was one who had been among them for many years . They all looked up to him with respect , f . nd hoped to see him in the chair . The J . W . was equally energetic , f , nd was a good working Mason . The Senior Warden said he was a very old member of tho Lodge , but ho bad been a very lazy ono . However , ho hoped in fntnro to realise all the kind words

the W . M . had said of him , and that he might eventually reach tho chair . Bro . G . H . Goodey also replied . The W . M . had now a toast that every Lodge was prond to honour , and that was tho health of the Treasurer and Secretary ; ho wonld also associate the name of the W . S ., Bro . Parker P . M . The members knew their qualifiestions ; without tlieir exertions this influential Lodge wonld never

havo attained the position it held . Bro . Parker P . M ., in a very humorous speech , said the Lodge , many years since , had been held at the East end of London ; truly it might be said it had progressed . Ho was pleased to see tho manner in which Bro . Aricns had done his work . Tho Lodgo is in a good position and owes to no man . The balance is left iu the hands of a vcrv good man and Mason , Bro .
