1 st . From Companions John Hunt as Z ., John Shaw as H ., Thomas Henry Vernon as J ., and six others for a Chapter to be attached to the White Rose of York Lodge , No . 2491 , to be called * ' The White Rose of York Chapter , " and to meet at Freemasons' Hall , Surrey Street , Sheffield , in the County of Yorkshire .

2 nd . From Companions William Eugene Chapman as Z ., James Harford Hawkins as H ., William Sergeant Lee as J ., and ten others for a Chapter to be attached to the Eccentric Lodge , No . 2488 , to be called " The Eccentric Chapter , " and to meet at Freemasons' Hall , London . 3 rd . From Companions William Heap Bailey as Z ., William Alfred Scurrah as H ., Eliab Rogers as J ., and ten others for a Chapter to be attached to the Fellowship Lodge , No . 2535 , to be called " The Fellowship Chapter , " and to meet at the Frascati Restaurant , Oxford Street , London .

4 th . From Companions Thomas Harrison Roberts as Z ., Frederick Joseph Hubbard as H ., Henry John Thomas as J ., and thirteen others for a Chapter to be attached to the Carrington Lodge , No . 2421 , to be called " The Studholme Brownrigg Chapter , " and to meet at Amersham , in the County of Buckingham .

5 th . From . Companions James Block as Z ., Joseph Hands as H ., James Bunker as J ., and nine others , for a Chapter to be attached to the Southern Star Lodge , No . 1158 , to be called " The Southern Star Chapter , " and to meet at the Holborn Restaurant , High Holborn , London . The foregoing petitions being regular , the Committee recommend that the prayers thereof be respectively granted .

The Committee have also received a memorial from Companions Charles Ernest Vansittart as Z ., John Augustus Agar-Hamilton as H ., Hubert John Scott as J ., and the members of the Bulwer Chapter , No . 1068 , Cairo , for a Charter of Confirmation , tbe original having been destroyed by fire . Tbe Committee recommend that a Charter of Confirmation be granted .

The Committee further recommend that inasmuch as the Rock Chapter , No . 260 , Trichinopoly , Madras , has ceased to work , the Charter be returned . The Committee have to report that St . Peter's Westminster Chapter , No . 1537 , London , has ceased to work and returned its Charter , and they recommend that it be erased .

The Committee have also to report that the Amity Chapter , No . 171 , London , has ceased to work , and they recommend that the Chapter be summoned to show cause why it should not be erased from the Roll of Chapters . ( Signed ) ROBERT GREY ,

FIDELITY CHAPTER , No . 477 .

THE Chapter held the first meeting of the present year on Monday , 13 th ult ., in the Masonic Chambers , Hamilton Street , Birkenhead , with Comps . R . G . Hawkins M . E . Z ., Richard Parry H ., and Robert Robinson J . The ordinary business of the Chapter being disposed of , a Conclave of Installed Principals was formed , when Comp . S . Jones P . Z . P . Prov . G . H . proceeded to instal Comp . John Morris P . Z . P . Prov . G . S . as First Principal for the current year .

This Chapter , which is the oldest in the west Cheshire district , is now celebrating its jubilee , having had a continuous existence since 1846 , when it was founded , mainly through the exertions of the late Edward Gardner Willoughby . In addition to this fact the present is the third time tbe members have elected Companion Morris to preside over them as First Principal .

After the conclusion of the business , the members adjourned to the dining room , where dinner was provided , after which the usual Loyal and Arch toasts were given by Comp . Morris , who expressed the hope that tl e Chapter would continue to prosper . So far as he was concerned personally , he would endeavour to the best of his power to make the jubilee a most ,

prosperous one for Royal Arch Masonry in Birkenhead , and hoped to havo the special assistance of the members and Officers during his year of office , so that , when he retired from the chair , the present year , under its exceptional circumstances , might be a most useful and pleasant one to look back upon .

DERBY CHAPTER , No . 1055 . THE regular meeting was held at Chester Bank , Prestwich , on Thursday , the 23 rd ult . There were present : —Comps . John Wardle Z ., Jno . W . HallamH ., Wm .

report and Treasurer ' s balance sheet , after which the Companions sat down to supper , this being followed by the festive board , where the orthodox toasts were varied by songs , recitations , & c , given by Comps . Hallam , Heywood , Hislop , Roberts , and Donbavand .

ADAIR CHAPTER , No . 1750 . ON Wednesday , 22 nd ult ., a meeting was held at the Public Hall , Clevedon , when the Principals for the ensuing year were installed by Cornp . Colonel Long P . Z .: —Comps . J . Jupp Z ., A . B . Wickendon H ., E . Thatcher J .

PYTHAGOREAN CHAPTER OF IMPROVEMENT , No . 79 . ON Tuesday , 21 st ult ., at the New Cross House , New Cross Road , S . E ., Comps . E . 0 . Talbot M . E . Z ., T . D . Long H ., G . Brown J ., H . De Whalley S . E ., T . Prior S . N ., J . J . West P . S ., J . G . Milboum P . Z . Preceptor , R . Borrett , W . Fielder .

The ceremony of exaltation was rehearsed , Comp . Fielder candidate . Comp . Long was elected Z . for the next meeting , and J . G . Millbourn P . Z . Preceptor for the ensuing year . Comp . Talbot acting Z . received the most hearty congratulations of the Companions on his able and efficient rendering of the ceremony of exaltation , and the Chapter was closed .

ROYAL SUSSEX LODGE , No . 75 . THE installation meeting was held at the Royal Pavilion , Brighton , on the 22 nd , when Bro . W . Bennett was installed W . M . by the retiring Master Brother T . Wickham , and the charges were delivered by Bro . J . 0 . Buckwell P . M .

CORNUBIAN LODGE , No . 87 . npHE annual meeting was held at Hayle , on Tuesday , 21 st ult ., when Bro . JL T . A . Taylor was installed W . M . by Bro . R . Rowe , and appointed the Officers .

STARKIE" LODGE , No . 159 . THE annual meeting was held at the Red Lion Hotel , Accrington , on Wednesday , 15 th ult ., when Bro . Samuel Porritt , of Ramsbottom , P . P . G . Superintendent of Works installed Bro . Thomas Roberts S . W . as W . M . for the ensuing year .
