The brethren subs ' eqnontly partook of an admirably served banquet , and tho after proceedings were pleasantly enlivened by the musical contributions of Bros . S . Kirkham , E . Edward ? , W . Higinbotharo , and J . Scott , Brother Hubert Whittingham officiating 53 accompanist , having efficiently presided at the organ during the consecration and . installation services .

DOBIE LODGE , No . 839 . A MEETING of this Lodgo was held on tbe 15 th ultimo , at the Griffin Hotel , Kingston-on-Thames , when Brother Levy W . M ., assisted by all bis Officers , opened the Lodge , and after the despatch of ordinary business , proceeded with the installation of Brother James Edgell into the chair of K . S ., who was prevented by illness from attending tho meeting in January , which is the usual time for that

to be done . Bro . Joseph P . M . 43 P . P . G . J . D . Warwickshire filled the S . W . ' s chair , Brother Gobb P . M . 902 acted as J . W ., and Brother Montgomery W . M . 2144 P . D . D . G . M . Malta kindly acted as I . G . Brother Chapman P . M . P . P . G . Standard Bearer was Director of Ceremonies , and Brother Long P . M . P . P . G . D . C . presented the

W . M . elect to tho W . M ., who followed the example of his five immediate predecessors by performing the ceremony of installation himself . There was a large attendance of visitors , 31 in all , and also a full complement of tho members of the Lodge . The Board of Installed Masters was omposed of 23 , wearers of the purple

predominating . The ceremony of installation was performed most ably throughout , and Brother Levy brought his year of office to a close with Cclat , thus completely justifying the presentation to him by the Lodge of a Past Muster ' s jewel for his efficient and able services during bis period of Mastership . Tho new W . M . having been dul y

installed , ho appointed his Officers , aa follow : —Bros . Levy I . P . M ., Bond S . W ., Wilkinson P . M . 1420 J . W ., J . Drewett P . M . Treasurer , W . Drewett P . M . Secretary , Gardiner S . D ., White J . D ., Westmacott I . G ., Honeywell P . M . Organist , Gaze Director of Ceremonies , Watkin Steward , and Gilbert Tyler . The threo addrossc 3 were admirabl y delivered by the Installing Master , and when ho received tho

presentation jewel at the hands of the Worshipful Master the plaudits whi h greeted him showed that ho was considered well worth y of the honour . A proposition for joining and another for initiation having been made , and hearty good wishes tendered , the Lodge was closed . It should be added that Bro . Chapman P . M ., who went up as Steward to the Festival of tie Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , reported

that bis list amounted to nearly £ 10 , and that Brothor J . Drewett P . M . undertook to represent the Lodge at the approaching Festival of tho Hoys' Si'hool , upon which a vote of ten guineas was mado lo his list , being the second such sum fir the Charities thii year . An excellent banquet wa » served by Brother Herbert Clifford , at which tho goes's numbered 59 , the hospitality of the Lodge being extended

to live-sister Institutions meeting near , while the Worshipful Mastor and others invited visitors with a freo hand . Tho menu and toust list was embellished with an excellent photograph of the Worshipful Master , who had also contributed to the interest of the card as a souvenir by affixing most appropriate quotations to all the toasts , taken from the works cf Tennyson , and with scarcely on exception

each extract formed a " peg' on whioh to hang proposal or reply . The BpeecheB were short and to the point , and from every point of view the installation of Brother Edgell was the occasion of one of t * e most successful gatherings in the annals of the Dobie Lodge . The now Worshipful Mastor was iuitiated in May 188 G , and has gone through most of the offices leading np to the chair of his mother Lodgo .

EXCELSIOR LODGE , No . 1042 . fpiIE regular meeting of this Lodge was held at the Masonic Hall , JL Great George Street , Leeds , on Thursday , the 16 th ult ., when the following brethren were present : —Bros . The minutes of the last regular Lodge having been read and confirmed , Brothers Dobson and Milne were duly and impressively raised to the sublime degree , the former by the Worshipful Master , and the latter by Brother Thompson , the concluding portion of the ceremony being taken by Bro . Bingham . Brothers Marshall , Nettleton , and Gash

signed and received their Grand Lodge certificates . The Treasurer ' s balance sheet for 1892 was presented aud adopted . It was reported that the Provincial Grand Master Bro . T . W . Tew had presented to the Lodge a copy of Brother William Watson's transcription of the " Stanley Masonio MS ., " and it was resolved to tender the best thanks of the brethren to the Provincial Grand Master for his

valuable aud interesting g ift . The names of a joining member and a candidate for initiation was proposed . Hearty good wishes having been tendered by the visiting brethren , the Lodge was dosed .

METHAM LODGE , No . 1205 . AT the banquet of this Lodge , on the 27 bh ultimo , at the Freemasons' Hall , Plymouth , seventy of the brethren were present . Brother Facey tbe W . Fawsett was duly passed into the degree of a F . C . by Bro . Wardle , he being assisted by the following brethren , viz ., Brother Midgley , who presented the working tools , Brother Walkden , who rendered the address at the N . E ., and Brother Norton , who delivered the ancient charge . Brother Thomas Henry Snmmersgill was

afterwards raised to tbe sublime degree by the W . M ., the traditional history being rendered by Brother Bennett , the working tools were presented by Brother Midgley , and the ancient charge was delivered by Brother Norton . We have on former occasions referred to the excellent work of the two principal Officers , so that comment at the

present time is unnecessary . Brother Midgley seems to have made a special feature of the work allotted to binij-for his explanation of the tools in both degrees waa excellently well'done , and merited the approving remarks tendered to him . Brother Bennett was equally at home iu the traditional history , and the candidate listened with great

attontion to the measured sentences as they fell from his lips . At the festive board which followed , tho usual Loyal and Masonio toasts wore given and responded to , toe same being diversified by songs aud recitations from tho following , vivi ., Brothers Norton , Mentha

Bennett , Roberts and Albert Summersgill . Brothers Hothersall and Midgley proposed the health of the nowly-passccl and newly-raised brethren respectively , to which the latter responded iu suitable teems . Brother Thompson proposed the toast of the visiting brethren , to which Brothers Mentha aud Critchley responded . The

Brother Midgley seems to have made a special feature of the work allotted to binij-for his explanation of the tools in both degrees waa excellently well'done , and merited the approving remarks tendered to him . Brother Bennett was equally at home iu the traditional history , and the candidate listened with great

attontion to the measured sentences as they fell from his lips . At the festive board which followed , tho usual Loyal and Masonio toasts wore given and responded to , toe same being diversified by songs aud recitations from tho following , vivi ., Brothers Norton , Mentha
