Several Brethren of Gravesend are working on behalf of an Amateur Dramatic performance which is to take place on Tuesday , 11 th prox ., in the Upper Public Hall of that town , the proceeds being intended for the benefit of the Boyal Masonic Institution for Girls , and we hope a substantial sum will be

MASONIC CELEBRATION AT THE CAPE .
THE scheme of a Masonic commemoration of the record reign of the Queen by aiding the Masonic Education Fund and the Cape District Joint Benevolent Fund has had a good effect , and there is every reason for believing that the effort will be crowned with success . The Masonic Educational Fund was established by the joint effort of the Lodges in South Africa ,
working under the English , Scottish , and Netherlands Constitutions , in 1887 , to commemorate the Jubilee year of the Queen ' s reign , and it is considered most appropriate that the Masonic action on this occasion would be the putting of the
Benevolent Fund on a permanently sound financial footing , it now being entirely dependent upon voluntary contributions . At present fifty-one children are receiving education at the expense of the Education Fund . — " Morning Leader . "
