The above work represents tho first issue aft > r the Union of December 27 th , 1813 . Thc laws were considered at Grand Lodges held February 1 st , May 31 st , and August 23 rd , when they were ordered to " he in force for three years , from the 1 st of November , 1815 , " and tlien to bo subj ct to revision . The Prov . Grand Master of Dorset ( Wm . AVilliams ) kindly
offered to have the work printed , with thc copyright secured , any profits to belong to the Grand Lodge . This explains the signature of that zealous brother being appended to all copies , which wero sold at £ 1 each . Subscribers were requested not to have their books bound until after the expiration of three years . Tho " Second Part , " curious to state , only was printed , the first portion , containing tho historical introduction , being promised as soon as possible , lint was never published . Apparently it was being produced , as a number of sheets aro preserved in Grand Lodgo—as also a fine emblematical frontispiece—which were intended for the purpose . The plate , however , is all that was really worthy of circulation . No loss has accrued from tho absence of Part I . —Bro . W . J . Hunhan .
