defendant in the Edinburgh case which has formed the basis of our remarks appears to have been alive to this , although , unfortunately , he was not seconded in his laudable conduct by those about him . Let us hope his experience will prove a lesson to others , and that those who at any time contemplate proceedings
which may in any roundabout fashion seem to be associated with the Craft will pause before going to extremes , and not only write to their solicitors , as our Edinburgh brother did , but make sure their instructions will be duly carried out . In one of the letters this Scotch Master addressed to his representatives , he said : " We must not do anything
which will admit of the newspapers getting hold of Masonic matters , so please do not go into Court with details , and , if necessary , rather pay than allow any publicity . " Yet , in spite of these direct instructions , our brother has had tho annoyance of publicity , and not only so , but has been severely criticised for apparent un-Masonic actions , a result which entitles him to the sympathy rather than the abuse of his fellow members of the Masonic Brotherhood , and we venture to think he will receive this sympathy from all who are placed in possession of the full facts of the case .
