The foregoing petitions beiDgin all respects regular , the Committeo vccommenci that the prayers thereof be respectively granted . The Committee have also received the following petitions praying for Charters of Confirmation , the originals boing lost : — Prom the Principals and Members of the Enfield Chapter , No . 1237 , Enfield .
Prom the Principals and Members of the Prince Frederick William Chapter , No . 753 , St . John's Wood . The Committee recommend that Charters of Confirmation for the above-named Chapters be granted .
The Committee have likewise to report that two Chapters , through neglect of the law as contained in Article 67 , page 22 , of the Royal Arch Regulations ( Edit . 1879 ) , having recently exalted brethren at a less period than twelve calendar months from the date of their becoming Master Masons : —

POLISH NATIONAL CHAPTER .
THE installation meeting of this Chapter was held at Freemasons ' Hall , Great Queen-street , W . C , on the 23 rd ult . Compa . Palmer M . E . Z ., Lowden H ., and Dr . Corrie Jaokson J . After some business matters had been considered , Comp . Lowdeu , who had been unanimously elected , was installed M . E . Z ., Dr . Jackson H ., and Dr . Jagielski J . Comp . Paas was invested S . E ., Nowakowski Treasurer ,
Bryant S . N ., Bieling P . S ., Reed and Kelaey Assistants . The ballot was taken for Brothers J . Tolley , Dr . Charles Renner and Fauser . It proving to be unanimous in their favour , they were entrusted and exalted to the Supreme Degree by Comp . J . Palmer , who performed all the duties in the most able and impressive manner .
The Treasurer's accounts , having been audited , were passed , and tbe Chapter was duly olosed , it being nearly nine o ' clock when the Companions retired to the dining room . In consequence of the lateness of the evening , the Companions restricted their remarks , but the usual Loyal and Royal Aroh toasts received attention .
Since the members of the Camden Chapter of Improve
ment have taken up their quarters at the Moorgate , Finsbury Pavement , good attendances have been the rule . On Tuesday last Comp . Knight filled the chair of Z ., with Comps . Bolton H ., Carter P . Z . J ., H . Slyman P . Z . S . E .,
Eoach N ., and Sheppard P . S . There were also present Comps . Jacobs P . Z ., King , Sheffield , Morgan , Gregory P . Z . The rehearsal of the ceremony of exaltation was creditably performed , Comp . Sheffield acting as candidate .
Comps . Jacobs and Morgan were elected members . The Chapter room is well appointed , and Comps . Hammond and Bolton use every effort in their power to make their patrons comfortable during their stay .
At the Korth London Chapter of Improvement , on Thursday , at the Alwyne Castle Tavern , St . Paul's-road , Canonbury , at tho hour of 8 . Comps . T . T . Phillips M . E . Z ., G . W . Knight H ., G . Gregory J ., J . E . Sheffield S . E ., J . Collinson P . S ., S . George S . N ., T . C . Edmonds
Preceptor . The Officers went through their work most creditably . Companions seeking instruction should visit this Chapter of Improvement .
An exhibition of French cookery was held on the 22 nd and 23 rd ult ., at Willis ' s Eooms , St . James ' s , under distinguished patronage . This was the first display of the kind in this country , and well merited the patronage it
received . The artistic and marvellous specimens of the culinary art were thoroughly appreciated , over 4000 persons visiting the rooms . Amongst those who displayed their skill were Messrs . Lecomte , Cossart , Benoist , Rope ,
Jeannin , and Victor Mandin . The latter exhibited an " Easter egg box , " carved out of the cuttle fisb bone , with medallions cut on eggs , in various colours . The Exhibition was a success . In the evening a ball was held , when over
400 guests were present . As a matter of course , the supper was of a most recherche kind , while marvellous specimens of decorations were on view . Tho President ,
M . Ponard , Messrs . Penet , De Vien , Lecomte , Bohers , Benoist and Cabuzet acted as Stewards . Bro . Charles Godfrey ' s band discoursed the music , and Bros . Jarvis and Bareham were the M . C . ' s .
At the regular meeting of the Isaac Newton University Lodge , at Cambridge , on Monday , 27 th . April , His Royal Highness Prince Edward of Wales , Royal Alpha Lodge , was elected a joining member .
Bro James Stevens P . M . P . Z . has accepted the invitation of the Priory Lodge , No . 1000 , Southend on Sea , to deliver his lecture on Freemasonry , explanatory of the Ritual and Ceremonial of the First Degree , at the Lodge meeting on Friday , 5 th June , at the Middleton Hotel , Southend , at 7 p . m .
