Correspondenre-with-the-Briglrton-Ririivvay Company was read , showing that the privileges extended in , former years fajftlje return tickets ' of visitors ' - ® i- this FestivaCbeirrg available for two clays beyond the date of issue , had been withdrawn ,
and that the Railway Company proved obdurate on this point . Flaving made inquiry , the Secretary reported that the Freemasons' Tavern , Flotel Cecil , and the Crystal Palace were available for the date fixed . After considerable discussion it
was ultimately resolved tlmt H . R . H . the Duke of ^ Comiaught be requested to allow tiie Festival to be held in Lon'don . ' at the
Freemasons Tavern . A Festival Committee , consisting of the President , two Vice-Presidents , the Hon . Sec , and nine elected members , was appointed to make all arrangements-forthe ~ Festival .
THE annual athletic sports were held on Saturday . afternoon , at Wood Green , under extremely favourable coiiclitions . A capital programme * was Arranged , and , under the businesslike management of Bro . FI . R . Francombe , the various events were well contested , and afforded considerable pleasure to the
large number of spectators who had journeyed from all parts .
