tho R . W . Deputy Grand Masfcer tbe Earl of Mount Edgcumbe , and the rest of the Grand Officers Present and Past , coupling with tho latter tho names of Bros . Hamond lo Strange and 0 . Cheston . The health of the Provincial Grand Master ( Lord

Henniker ) and the Deputy Provincial Grand Master were received with the greatest cordiality , and the Deputy Provincial Grand Master , in returning thanks , touched briefly upon his pending removal from Suffolk , and which he said would bo a great wrench to him after twentv-three

years' residence at Long Molford . He reminded fchem that he was getting older , and could not cope with the work as ho had formerly done . The Lord Chancellor had offered him a small living in Gloucestershire , and which he hnd accepted . The Provincial Grand Master , however , wished

to retain him in the Province of Suffolk , but he did not believe in monopolising an office to thu exclusion of others who could perform the duties more satisfactorily . He

would lay his opinion before Lord Henniker , but if his lordship and the Masons of Suffolk considered that he shonld retain the office , it would be his dearest wish to do so . The othor toasts wero the Officers of Provincial Graud Ledge Past and Present , the Worshipful Masters of the Lodges in the Province , and the Visitors .

ON Tuesday , the 14 th nit ., the Officers and Brethren held their nsnal monthly meeting at the Bugle Hote ' , Lymincton . There ¦ was a considerable attendance of the brethren . Thu ceremonies were impressively coudncted by the W . M . Bro . A . I 3 i » t , assisted by the Past Masters of the Lodge . At the close of the Lodge ceremonies ,

the brethren adjonrned to a banquet provided by Bro . Past Master Dore , and spent a pleasant evening together , separating nt eight o'clock , iu time for the evening train for Southampton and Bournemouth .

The Lodge having been closed , the brethren , sat down to a . good substantial dinner , provided on the premises , under the direction of the Curator , Bro . B . Mitchell . It is worthy of remark that the members cater for themselves , and by the aid of a Committee are enabled to entertain their visitors in a manner that does not disgrace

the old baronial banqueting hall in which they dine . The nsnal Loyal toasts were well received , as well as those more particularly pertaining to the Province of Hertfordshire , that of the Provincial Grand Master Bro . T . F . Halsey , M . P ., being received with enthusiasm . Bro . Bnllock responded for the Provincial Grand Officers Present and Past in an interesting and eloquent speech , and finished by congratulating the members upon the excellent work

he had witnessed , and npon the magnificent place whioh had been appropriated for their Lodge meetings by the late Rev . C . E . Mayo . The nexfc business was to present the retiring Master with a handsome jewel , nnanimonsly voted by the brethren . This was done by the Worshipfnl Masfcer , in a shore bnt very appropriate speech , and wag suitably acknowledged by the I . P . M . Some capital songs enlivened the evening , the brethren dispersing after having enjoyed a thoroughly happy day .

r pHE installation meeting was held afc tho Abercorn Hotel , Great X Stanmore , on Thursday , the 23 rd ult ., when Bro . A . J . 11 . Goldney was duly installed W . M ., in succession to Bro . Tickle , CO ., P . P . G . Registrar Middlesex , who leaves the chair for the third time . Bro . Tickle was the first W . M ., some thirteen or fourteen years ago

and the great success of this Lodge , and ifcs high position in tbe Province are , in a great measure , due to his untiring efforts and devotion . As a recognition of this , and as a mark of their personal esteem , the members presented Bro . Tickle ( in addition to a third bar to his Pasfc Master ' s jewel ) with a beautiful gold ring .

r pHE installation meeting was held afc tho Abercorn Hotel , Great X Stanmore , on Thursday , the 23 rd ult ., when Bro . A . J . 11 . Goldney was duly installed W . M ., in succession to Bro . Tickle , CO ., P . P . G . Registrar Middlesex , who leaves the chair for the third time . Bro . Tickle was the first W . M ., some thirteen or fourteen years ago

and the great success of this Lodge , and ifcs high position in tbe Province are , in a great measure , due to his untiring efforts and devotion . As a recognition of this , and as a mark of their personal esteem , the members presented Bro . Tickle ( in addition to a third bar to his Pasfc Master ' s jewel ) with a beautiful gold ring .
