The Lodge having been opened , Bro . Fawcett was passed to tho F . C decree , and Bro . P . M . Gotto raised to the sublime degree of M . M ., both ceremonies boing worked in a highly efficient and impressive manner by the W . M . After the

transaction of incidental business , the brethren made their way to the Mitre Hotel , Hampton Court , for tho summer banqnet , which was served in that style whioh Bro . Sadler always exhibit * , aud in whioh he is not excelled . Following up a most recherche banquet came the customary toasts , which were proposed briefly , bat with much felicity of expression by the W . M ., whoso brevity was imitated

by all who responded , for there were several musical brethren present who contributed in no small degree to the pleasure of the evening by their vocalisation . In proposing the health of the W . M ., Bro . Cooke referred to fche meeting when Bro . John Hodgkin was to have been installed in the ohair , but was laid low with influenza , and remarked that though his entrance upon office was , as it were , under a oloud ,

be had had a brilliant and successful period since he assumed control of the Lodge . They had seen how splendidly he upheld the credit of Sfc . Margaret's and of the Province of Surrey for good working , and ifc was their hope that his year would close as happily as it had so far passed . The Worshipful Master , iu reply , said that he was gratified fco know thafc he had given satisfaction , but he had enjoyed

an advantage over some of his predecessors , who were equally well up in the ritual , by reason of having had five initiates BO far , and a sixth yet to come . In his efforts to maintain the prestige of the Lod no he had been well supported by his Officers , and he conld not but thank the Deacons . especially for the way in whioh they had helped to carry out the ceremonies . The W . M . also made reference to the services of Bro . Gibbea P . M ., who was good enough to act

as permanent Director of Ceremonies , and fco whose geniality and attention so much of the comfort they enjoyed was due . The Visitors had a most cordial greeting from fche W . M . and members of the Lodge , and the representatives of the adjoining bodies ( Dobie and Brownrigg ) assured the brethren of the Lodge thafc fchey wonld do all in their power to help make tbe forthcoming Provincial Grand Lodge ( to be held at Surbiton ) a success , so far as attendance is concerned .

ON Monday evening , the 13 th nit ., the last ordinary meeting , prior to the summer vacation , was held in tho Masonic Hall , Douglis , Isle of Man , Bro . T . S . Aylen W . M . presiding . There waa a large attendance of members and Visitors . Three candidates were roised to the snblime degree , Bros . T . II . Nesbitt D . P . G . M . and E . E . Cain P . M . assisting iu tho ceremonies . Afterwards the annual

election of Officers took place . Bro . F . W . Spencer S . W . was chosen as W . M . of the Lodge for fche ensuing year , Bro . 11 . E . Cain P . M . as Treasurer , and Bro .- J . Lanaghau as Tyler , all the voting being nuanimons . The VV . M . elect briefly addressed the Lodge in

acknowled gment of the honour conferred upon him , and the Treasurer elect followed with a fow well chosen words . Supper was afterwards served from tho Granville Hotel , and a musical treat afforded by Bro . Bowiey S . W . 1392 , a line tenor vocalist , who is fulfilling an engagement at the Palace .

1219 . The Lodge was opened and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge was opened in the second degree and Bro . Hitchin answered the necessary questions leading from the second to fche third degree , received the test of merit , and retired . The Lodge was raised to fche third degree and Brother Hitching was raised to the sublime degree by

the W . M ., the working tools being presented and explained by Bro . Martin Thomas I . P . M . Prior to the Lodge being olosed the Treasurer ' s balance sheet for the concert given by the Minniehaha Minstrel Troupe in aid of the Masonio Charities , on the 12 th of February last , was read and disclosed a net balance of £ 152 9 s 4 d , whioh will be divided between fche East Lancashire Systematic

Educational and Benevolent and the Royal Masonio Benevolent Institutions . The account was duly passed , and votes of thanks awarded the Treasnrer ( Bro . Harrop ) , the Secretary ( Bro . Fred Hilton ) , and fche Auditors , eaoh of whom acknowledged the compliment . We may here observe thafc this Lodge has amongst its members some of fche cleverest amateurs to be seen either in or out of London , all of whom

are gentlemen who periodically give concerts solely for charitable purposes . The sums realised at various concerts amonnt fco several thousand ponnds , which haa been duly handed over to hospitals , orphanages , and other charitable institutions . Since fche consecration of the Lodge , October 1890 , two concerts have been given in aid of the Masonic Institntions , in addition to others given previously , and it is highly commendable to every member thafc such zeal and

energy is exhibited whenever a special effort is required in the canse of charity . The ceremonies in the Lodge are always worked with musical accompaniments , that are given with a smoothness and precision highly creditable to all concerned . There being no farther business hearty good wishes were expressed by the visiting brethren , and the Lodge was closed in peace and harmony afc 8 o'clock . The next meeting of fche Lodge will take place on the fourth Monday in September .

The London and North Western Railway Company " announce that they will commence their conducted tours in Shakespeare ' s country ( including rail , coach , dinner ,

tea , si g htseeing , and waiter ' s fees ) on 2 nd and 4 th Jul y ; leaving London at 9 * 30 a . m . and returning same evening . The tours will be on Saturdays to Stratford-on-Avon , and on Mondays to Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick .
