Tho Committee of General Purposes beg to report that thoy have examined the accounts from the 15 ' h January 1890 , to the 15 th April 1890 , both inclusive , which they find to be as follows :-

2 nd . From Companions Major James Tasoher Ritchie as Z ., Wm . Alexander Weston as H ., William Richard Arnold BB J ., and eight others for a Chapter to be attached to the Ubique Lodge , No . 1789 , London , to be oalled "The Ubiqae Chapter , " and to meet at the Ragent Masonio Hall , Air-street , Regent-street , London .

3 rd . From Companions Samuel Hewett as Z ., Simeon Jacobs as H ., Frederick Kedge as J ., and sixteen others for a Chapter to be attached to the Covent Garden Lodge , No . 1614 , London , to be called "The Covent Garden Chapter , " aud to meet at the Criterion , Piccadilly , London .

The foregoing petitions being in all respects regular , the Committee recommend that the prayers thereof be respectively grauted . The Committee have also received memorials from the under , mentioned Chapters praying for Charters of Confirmation , the original Churteis boing lost .

The Committee recommend that tho removal of these Chapters be sanctioned . The Committee have further received the following Appeal of Companion Albert Walsh , P . Z . Chapter No . 711 , Port Elizabeth , Sonth Alfrica ( E . D . ) , against a decision of the Grand

Shoreditch Town Hall . —Tho evening concert at this popular Hall , given by our talented Bro . Dr . J . F . Haskius , on the eveniug of Thursday of last week , was most numeronsly attended and gave every satisfaction to the audience . Bro . Dr . HaskinB is well known iu the North-east of Londoti as tho Principal of tho Lyric School of Music , whoso headquarters aro at . Amherst

Road , Hackney , and the entertainment provided on tho occasion under notice , gave opportunity for some of his mor 6 advanced pupils to present themselves beforo a public assembly . In addition , Dr . Hnskins had secured the services of Madame Sitiioo ( Prima Donna from Her Majesty ' s and the Royal Italian Opera , Covent Garden ); Miss Ethel Winn , Miss Emily

Foxcroft , and Madame Florence Winn . Amongst the gontlemen who assisted were Messrs . Iver McKay , T . H . Lloyd , A . Aldorton , W . Devey , John Bartlett , and J . D . Fitzgerald . Mons . A . Cbaochoix was the solo violinist . As pianistes Misses A . Axtons , Hosvca , Kennedy , Napper , Russell , E . Cashford , and Lily Tidyman did excellent service . Dr . J . F . HaHkin 3 and Mr . Pinchbach acted as conductors .

Miss Ethel Winn contributed Gounod s " Ave Maria , and the old Scotch song "Within a Mile "; Miss Emily Foxcroft "Lusitania " and " Daddy , " for the latter she was most enthusiastically applauded ; Madamo Sinico sang Bizet ' s " Habaua , " from " Carmen , " and the ever popular " Robin Adair . " Madame Florence Winn favoured the company with " Caller Herrin , " and " John ' s Wife , " both of which

this lady rendered in her well known brilliant fashion . Amongst the gentlemen who moat especially distinguished themselves wero Mr . Iver McKay— "Tho Irish Emigrant" ( oxquisitoly rendered ) being especially applauded ; Mr . W . Devey ' s humoroua song was immensely successful , while Mr . J . D . Fitzgerald gave a very happy interpretation ( with Miss Foxcroft ) to a new version of

the old doct " Where sire you going ? " We may also commend the doct by tho Misses Er . tie and Jenny Argent— "The Two Consins . " The progr"mme was a long one , and compriav . cl violin solos by Mons . Augmte Ohnoohoix ( a player of great promise ) ; recitations by some clever children , and several pianoforte selections . The audionco throughout were most enthusiastic , and wo heartily congratulate Bro . Dr . Haskins on the result .

To night ( Saturday ) will bo produced , at the St . James ' s , at nino o'clock , " Esther Sandraz , " a play in threo acts , fouudod on A lolpho Belot ' s Femme de Glace , " by Mr . Sidney Grund y , in which Mrs . Langtry will sustain her original character .

By arrangement with Mr . William lorriss , Mr . Augustus Harris will produce , at Drury Lane , on Monday , the 12 th inst ., a powerful four-act play , entitled " Paul Kauvar , " in which Messrs . William Terriss , Henry Neville , Arthur Stirling , Charles Hudson , Victor Slovens , Miss Edith Bruce , Mrs . H . Clifton , and Miss Millward will appear .
