REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings .

CRAFT : METROPOLITAN

WESTBOURNE LODGE , No . 733 . ON Friday , 18 th ult ., the members took their annual up-river outing , the weather being all that could be desired . The party numbered sixty , and started from Paddington station , alighting at Taplow , where they embarked on the steam launch " Caversham . " A right pleasant trip was made up-river , with stoppages at Marlow and Wargrave . At Reading an excellent dinner was provided at the Queen ' s Hotel . Bro . 0 . T . Brown W . M . presided , and gave a few brief toasts .

GALLERY LODGE , No . 1928 . TEMPTED by the success which attended a similar gathering in 1895 , the Gallery Lodge held their annual picnic at Herne Bay , on Saturday , 12 th ult . The London , Chatham and Dover Railway Company made admirable provision for the party , numbering about fifty , who arrived at Herne Bay shortly after noon . Lunch was served at the Connaught Hotel , Marine Esplanade , the Worshipful Master Bro . Geo . Tarran presiding .

The afternoon was very pleasantly spent in Herne Bay and the neighbourhood , and at five o ' clock the party sat down to dinner at the Connaught Hotel , when a few toasts were proposed . An excellent programme of music was given by Bro . Dalgety Henderson , Bro . Cheesewright , and Miss Henderson ( accompanist ) , and the services of the artistes were warmly acknowledged .

Twenty members of the party stayed at Herne Bay till Monday , and Mr . and Mrs . Boncey and their family were thanked for their catering arrangements . On Sunday evening the company were entertained at the Connaught Hotel , by Bro . Sheridan , the proprietor of the " Financial Post , " who intimated his desire to join the Gallery Lodge .

During the interval proceedings of the evening , reference was made to a proposal that a Ladies Committee should be formed in connection with the Lodge for the furtherance of charitable Masonic work , and the suggestion was received with much favour . The Worshipful Master was congratulated on the exceedingly enjoyable character of the outing , and the Secretary was thanked for the arrangements .

LEWISHAM LODGE , No . 2579 . A MEETING was held on Saturday , 12 th ult ., at the Parish Hall , Ladywell , Bro . Charles Lamb W . M . presiding , and performing most admirably ceremonies in the first and third degrees . The Brethren afterwards adjourned to dinner , and , following the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , an excellent musical programme , under the direction of the Organist Bro . 0 . W . Wilkes , was rendered by Bros . Brooman , R . Cook , W . Phillips , H . A . Phillips , and Edward Hall .

M . and Treasurer , the Rising Sun , Globe Road , Bethnal Green , E ., on Sunday , the 27 th ult . ! Bro . H . Harris W . M ., M . Da Costa S . W ., C . Johnson J . W ., J . Dancyger acting Preceptor , B . J . Feldman acting Sec , W . Yetton P . M . Treas ., S Embden S . D ., W . Yetton jun . J . D ., J . Gaskell P . M . I . G .. C . Solomons , J . Wynman .

After a few formalities the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . C . Solomons as candidate . Bro . Johnson J . W . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Solomons , and then offered himself as candidate for the second degree , which was then rehearsed . Bro . M . Da Costa vacated his chair in favour of Bro . Solomons , he being presented , entrusted , and acting as candidate during the rehearsal of the ceremony of raising .

Great credit is due to Bro . H . Harris W . M . for the perfect and most impressive manner in which he went through the different degrees , all being delivered without the slightest hitch , and giving great satisfaction to all present . The Lodge was closed down and Bro . M . Da Costa was elected W . M . for next meeting . Bro . W . Yetton P . M . said he was sorry fco inform the

W . M . and Brethren that the funerals had taken place of Bros . Thomas Wooding , and Thomas Daycock , both of whom were members of the Lod"e . It was proposed by Brother J , Dancyger , seconded by the W . M ., and unanimously agreed to , that a letter of deep sympathy and condolence be sent to the respective families of the deceased Brethren .

GLAMORGAN LODGE , No . 36 . rpHE members met at the Masonic Temple , Cardiff , on Thursday , 24 th ult ., JL on the occasion of the installation of Rev . James Baker as W . M ., the ceremony being performed by tho retiring W . M . Bro . 0 . H . Priestley .

After the ceremony a banquet took place , amongst those present being Bro . Marmaduke Tennant D . Prov . G . M ., while letters expressing regret at inability to attend wero read from Lord Llangattock Prov . G . M ., and tho Lord Bishop of Llandaff .

MINERVA LODGE , No . 250 . ON Thursday , 24 th ult ., boing St . John ' s Festival , the Brethren assembled at the Masonic Hall , Hull , for the purpose of installing the Worshipful Master for the ensuing twelve months . The choice ot the Brethren having been accorded to Bro . Haggitt Colbcck , Solicitor , he was duly installed into the chair .

The annual banquet followed , and was presided over by the Worshipful Master , the toast of wliose health was received with enthusiasm .

FIDELITY LODGE , No . 555 . rriHE annual installation festival was held at the Crown Hotel , Fram-I lingham , on 16 th nit ., when a large number of brethren attended to

witness the installation of Bro . the Rev . W . T . Pratt . The ceremony of installation was performed in a most impressive and exemplary manner by Bro . Fraser P . P . S . G . D ., after which the W . M . invested the officers for the ensuing year .

The Lodge adjourned to tho banquet at the Corn Hall , presided over by the W . M . Bro . E . T . Drake P . M . proposed the toast of the W . M ., and said that he had known Bro . Pratt for a great number of years , and whatever he took in hand he did well . He hoped that the W . M . would have a successful year of office .

The W . M . responded in felicitous'terms , aud said that he should always regard tbe occasion as a day to be remembered . He was fully aware of the responsibility he incurred in accepting the chair of K . S ., but he trusted , with the help of the Brethren , to have a happy and successful year of office . He heartily thanked Bro . Drake for the kind words he had used in proposing his health , and the brethren for the hearty way in which they had received it .

Bro . Walter Cocks , in proposing the toast of the I . P . M ., said that in Bro . Lynch the Fidelity Lodge had a Master whose work had been beyond praise , a Master of whom the Lodge was justly proud , and one who would

necessarily take first rank among the Masters of the Province . Bro . Lynch , in responding , offered his grateful thanks to the brethren for the assistance they had rendered , and for the kindness and courtesy they had shown during bis year of office . Other toasts followed .

DOWNSHIRE LODGE No . 594 . rriHE installation took place at the Masonio Hall , Hope Street , Liverpool , JL on Thursday , 24 th ult ., when about 130 Brethren assisted at the ceremony of placing Brother William Henry Parkinson in the chair . The installing Master was Bro . John Phelan P . M . Treas ., whose efficient services wero acknowledged by the Brethren .

The retiring Master Bro . F . Wilkinson was presented with a Past Master ' s jewel , together with a gold watch , as a mark of the high esteem in which he is held by the Brethren .

DALHOUSIE LODGE , No . 865 . A T the Greyhound Hotel , Hampton Court , on Wednesday , 16 th ult ., Bro . W . Essex , of Richmond , was installed Worshipful Master . About forty sat down to the banquet , which was followed by tho usual toasts , and there was an excellent concert .

ALBERT VICTOR LODGE , No . 1773 . THE regular meeting was . held at the Town Hall , Pendleton , on Friday , 18 th ult ., Bro . Thomas M . Brown W . M . Three passings were due , but only two candidates put in an appearance , viz ., Bros . G . J . Blore and John H . Oakley , the ceremonies being performed by Bros . Wm . Mosley P . M . and the W . M . respectively , assisted by Bro . William Lambert S . W ., who presented and explained the Working Tools .

At the festive board which followed , a very interesting programme of vocal and instrumental music , & c formed a pleasant relief to the various toasts , the contributaries being Bros . W . T . Blease J . W ., who gave a reading ; J . B . Kenyon , a banjo solo ; F . Ridsdale Bowlcy P . M . 1213 , song , National Anthem , and also a duet iu conjunction , with Bro . J . Hart ; Tom Bradbury ,
