previous day , when the prizes were distributed . He found they had a Head Master of great ability and liberal mindedness , so the Boys were sent out into the world equipped in the best possible manner to tight the battle of life . He therefore asked their hearty support on behalf of such an excellent Institution .
Bro . 0 . E . Keyser replied on behalf of the School , ana gave a general review of the progress of the Institution . He said it was hoped in the near future to find accommodation for 500 Boys . He hoped when the Stewards lists were read out , the people would exclaim " Oh t Wonderful Masons ! " Bro . J . M . McLeod Secretary then read the lists of contributions , the announcement of the different totals being received with great enthusiasm , which increased in intensity when the Chairman's list , which Bro . McLeod kept till the last , was announced .
Bro . Bichard Eve in highly eulogistic terms proposed the health of Lord Cavendish Bentinck , to whom the Institution owed a deep debt of gratitude . They were now looking forward with a great amount of pleasurable anticipation to the Centenary Festival , when the Grand Master had announced that he would honour the occasion by his presence . Lord Henry briefly returned thanks , and said he had enjoyed one of the most pleasant evenings in his life .
Bro . Dr . C . V . Childe gave the other Masonic Charities , which was acknowledged by Bro . F . R . W . Hedges Secretary of the Girls School . The Chairman proposed the Stewards of the day , for whom Bro . Col . F . R . Sewell responded . Bro . John Glass in a humourous speech submitted the Ladies , which compliment was acknowledged by Bro . T . Blanco White , on their behalf . This brought the proceedings to a close at a very late hour .
The musical entertainment was under the direction of Bro . Arthur Strugnell , and the artistes engaged were Madame Clara Samuell , Miss Emily Foxoroft , the Meister Glee Singers , Bro . G . T . Mills , and Bro . J . Turle Lee .
We regret we were unable to obtain the usual list of Stewards of the Festival and amounts collected by each in time for publication in this issue , but shall give the particulars in full next week . Meanwhile we append summaries of the different Provinces , & c .:

pupils since last year in every branch . In reference to general education the Board referred with gratification lo tbe report of the Examiner to the Cambridge University Syndicate , whose work was not only most thorough , but had extended over a vast number of subjects , all of which had been most favourably reported upon . The Board of Management desired to study the physical education of the boys as much as their training in other branches , and did everything that was possible to ensure their good health . In this
direction they had especially to thank the Matron for what she did for the boys , who were all well looked after . It was the constant endeavour of all to so train the boys that when they left the School they should be able to take the very highest positions in outside life , and as evidence of the results that had attended their efforts in the past they were able to point to most notable instances of success among the boys who had been brought up in the School at Wood Green .
Bro . Eve . referred to the grant of £ 2 , 000 from Grand Lodge , hoping that would enable the Institution to found a Scholarship that might be of some use to future pupils , and then spoke of the services of the Doctor , the Head Master , and the Secretary , all cf whom he eulogised for the part they took in securing the general success that attended the Institution . said Bro . Hebb was beloved by his pupils and really dwelt in the hearts of the boys . He entered into all their spores with the greatest activity , and all , tho time took great care that the work of the School was properly carried out . It was hardly the place to speak of what Bro . McLeod did for the Institution , but his efforts were worthy of all commendation , as was the case , indeed , with the whole staff of officers , whose labours , he felt sure , must lead to the future success of the School .
Bro . Hebb now detailed what had been done during the past year , referring to the successes of the pupils in the different examinations they had taken part in . The year , on the whole , had been one of continued prosperity and happiness . The different successes secured by the boys were very satisfactory , especially when the age of the pupils was taken into
consideration , together with the large proportion of boys who were sent up for examination . Bro . Hebb spoke of the small laboratory being erected by the Board of Management , and felt sure it would enable them to secure much better results than had yet attended their efforts in the Science and Art departments .
The prizes were then presented by Lady Henry Cavendish Bentinck , the following being the
