SOUTH WALES , EASTERN DIVISION .
THE annual meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge was held at the Albert Hall , Swansea , on Thursday , 24 th ult ., when there was a large gathering of Brethren . Several years have elapsed since the Loyal Masons of Swansea were honoured by a visit from Provincial Lodge , but the warm welcome given on this occasion will doubtless induce a similar visit at no distant
date . The Albert Hall had been specially fitted up for the occasion by Bro . Eddershaw , of Swansea . The Lodge was opened by Lord Llangattock Prov . Grand Master , who was supported on the dais by a number of distinguished Brethren , including the Deputy Provincial Grand Master Bro . M . Tennant .
Lord Llangattock was escorted into the Lodge by a long procession of present and past Provincial Officers , and business began shortly before three o ' clock . The roll of Lodges was called , and there was a good response from the Brethren . Bro . Tennant proposed the adoption of the report . On the motion of Bro . Dr . Hall , the Provincial Treasurer ' s account was adopted ; together with a vote of thanks to Bro . H . Lewis for his valuable services in the past year .
On the motion of Bro . W . H . Lewis , seconded by Bro . J . E . Davies , the Lodge confirmed the election of Bro . J . Lindley Smith as the new Treasurer .

Bro . McLeod ( London ) thanked the Lodge for its generous vote to the Boys School . A collection was made on behalf of the local charities . Lord Llangattock moved a cordial vote of thanks to the Brethren of Swansea , for the warm welcome given that day .
Affer some routine business the Lodge was closed , and a banquet was served at the Eoyal Hotel . During the meeting a telegram was forwarded by Bro Whittington P . G . Sec , on behalf of Lord Llangattock and the Officers of the Provincial Lodge , to Bro . Dr . W . W . Morgan ,
J . P ., of Newport , and Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden of Monmouthshire , heartily congratulating him upon his 87 th birthday , and referring to the fact of his being the first Provincial Grand Secretary of Monmouthshire , under Col . Kemeys Tynte , early in the forties—1840 or 1841 . Dr . Morgan ' s association
with the ancient and honourable Craft of Freemasonry thus extends over a period exceeding half a century , says the " South Wales Daily News , " and in that sense he becomes the Grand Old Man of Monmouthshire Masons . Dr . Morgan , our readers will be glad to know , on Thursday received many other messages of congratulation , and is in the enjoyment of good health .
New Hall At Keighley.
NEW HALL AT KEIGHLEY .
A Memorial-stone was laid on Saturday afternoon with due ceremonial in the Lodge room of the new Masonic Hall , now in course of erection in Cooke-street , Keighley . The premises , which are to cost about £ 2 , 500 , give accommodation for a large
Lodge room and ante-rooms on the top floor : a billiard-room , conversation , news , and smoke rooms , & c , on the first floor ; a suite of three offices on the ground floor ; and here and in the basement apartments for the curator .
The Brethren of the Eoyal Yorkshire Lodge , No . 265 , assembled at the Masonic Booms , Hanover-Street , and after the opening of the Lodge a procession was formed to the site . On arrival , after a short service , Bro . Alderman F . Binns presented
mallet and trowel to the Worshipful Master , Bro . Green reading the inscriptions to be recorded on them . Bro . Eoper then requested the Worshipful Master to lay the memorial-stone , which was raised under the direction of the Superintendent of Works .
The secretary read the inscription which the stone will subsequently bear , and after the Treasurer had deposited a phial in the cavity ,. the Worshipful Master discharged his duties in full Masonic order , the choir , led by Bro . A . Sharp , P . M ., singing an appropriate ode . At the close of the Worshipful
Master ' s address the Brethren sang " Hail ! Masonry Sublime , " and after being photographed returned to the Lodge rooms , where a banquet took place . Bro . J . W . Monckman P . M . P . P . G . D . C . assisted in arranging the order of proceedings . —" Leeds Mercury . "
Brother Thomas Layborn , Mayor of Gravesend , gave a grand banquet at the Town Hall there , on the 23 rd ult ., to celebrate the occasion of Her Majesty having reigned the longest of any European Sovereign . Most of the members of the Corporation and the military officers now stationed in the Borough , besides several of the local gentry , were present . The banquet was served by Bro . John Simpson , of the Old Falcon Hotel .
At the first meeting this season of the Egyptian Lodge of Instruction , No . 27 , held , as already mentioned in our pages , at the Duval Eestaurant ( late Salutation ) , Newgate Street , it was proposed that a supper be held on Tuesday , 20 th inst ., to
celebrate the re-opening . Any Brother desiring to join the Lodge , or be present at the supper , should apply at once to Bro . Macfarlane ( Secretary ) , Sunnydene , Addington Eoad , Stroud Green . The Lodge meets every Tuesday evening , at 7 o ' clock .
