THE annual meeting of the Grand Chapter will be held on Saturday next , 10 th inst ., at the Town Hall , Twickenham , when the Eight Hon . Lord George Francis Hamilton , M . P ., will be installed as Provincial Superintendent , the ceremony being performed by Comp .

W . W . B . Beach , M . P ., J . of the Grand Chapter of England and Provincial Grand Superintendent of Hampshire and Isle of Wight .

THE Annual meeting was held at the Pavilion , Brighton , on the 16 th ult ., when Comp . J . Wood was installed M . E . Z ., J . Terry H ., and H . Beaumont J . On the closing of the Chapter the Companions sat down to a banquet , under the presidency of Comp . Wood . Among the Visitors was the M . E . the Grand Superintendent Comp . Lieutenant-General C . W . Randolph .

o o o UNITY CHAPTER , No . 1247 . THE annual meeting was held on Friday , 19 th ult .. at the Freemasons' Hall , Princess Square , Plymouth , when the following were installed : Comps . C . Philp Z ., W . H . Mayne H ., and G . F . Watson J .

COVENT GARDEN CHAPTER , No . 1614 . nnHE Companions of this Chapter met to celebrate the Annual X Installation on Thursday , 25 th ult ., at the Masonic Temple of the Criterion , Piccadilly , W ., when there were present Comps . Frederick Kedge , in the absence of John Skinner M . E . Z ., Walter Hancock H ., Samuel Hewitt J ., George Reynolds Scribe E ., H .

Dehane P . Z . 890 , A . Wilson 889 , W . W . Lee H . 1524 , G . R . Langley Prov . G . Treasurer Middlesex , Orlton Cooper 1928 , Dr . Anthony Nutt , N . Dukes , Thos . Peet , Thos . Warren , W . M . Carter , James Rowe , H . G . Walker , Frank Hansen , J . F . Bryth , and Walter J . Thrussell , & c .

Bro . Robert Love , of the Strand Lodge , No . 1987 , having been balloted for and approved was regularly exalted by Companion Frederick Kedge P . Z ., with the usual ceremony , the three lectures being delivered by Companions Kedge , Hewitt and Hancock respectively .

The minutes of the previous convocation having been read and confirmed Comp . George R . Langley P . Z . impressively installed Companion Walter Hancock as First Principal , and respectively inducted Comps . Samuel Hewitt P . Z . and George H . Foan as Second and Third Principals , with the usual ceremonies .

The following Companions were invested as Officers of the Chapter * . —John Coltart Treasurer , George Reynolds Scribe E ., Arthur L . Bullen Scribe N ., Charles 0 . Burgess P . S ., James D . Graham 1 st Asst . Soj ., George C . Bond 2 nd Asst . Soj ., James Woodward D . C ., John T . Blyth Steward and Robert F . Potter Janitor .

A Past Principal's jewel was awarded to Comp . John Skinner I . P . Z ., for services rendered to the Chapter during the past year , but owing to his absence the presentation was postponed . The report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted after which the Chapter was closed in due form , and the Companions adjourned to the banquet room .

The usual Loyal toasts were honoured , after whicli Comp . Coltart in eulogistic terms proposed the health of the M . E . Z . Comp . Hancock , in reply , said he was proud to be installed in the difficult office as First Principal . He should never shirk his duties , but would endeavour to emulate those who had gone before him . He was pleased to learn that his labours so far had given satisfaction to the Companions .

Comp . Love , m response to his health , tendered his thanks for the honour done him that evening , and especially to the P . S . who had assisted him so efficiently during the ceremony . He considered the rites of Exaltation were very grand and were most effectivel y rendered .

In a few kindly words the M . E . Z . welcomed the Visitors , to which most of those present replied . Tho Past Principals and the present Officers of the Chapter were similarly complimented , after which the Janitor's toast brought tho proceedings to a pleasant termination .

During the evening a capital musical programme was submitted by Comp . Walter J . Thrussell , who was assisted by Companion Harry Tipper ( silver bells ) , Brother Charles Clark and Miss Cassie Bruce . Comp . Edward Hancock , who has just been installed M . E . Z . of this Chapter , was born at Aylesbury , Buckinghamshire , on 12 th Feburary 1831 , but was only initiated into Freemasonryjso recentl y

as 1884 , in the Victoria Lodge , No . 1056 . Since that time he has taken great interest in the Craft and has greatly distinguised himself , as will be seen by the following record . He was one of the Founders of the Anglo-American Lodge , No . 2191 , of which he is now a Past Master . He was exalted in the Regularity Chapter ,

No . 91 , of Royal Arch Masonry , in 1888 , and now occupies the chair of Second Principal . In 1890 he joined with others in founding the Covent Garden Chapter , of which he was first Principal Sojourner . He is also at the present time Supreme Ruler of the Anglo-American Conclave , No . 6 .

Comp . George Reynolds , who is Scribe E ., was born at the Houses of Parliament , Westminster , on the same day as Comp . Hancock , 12 th February 1831 , and was initiated in the Belgrave Lodge , No . 179 , about twelve years ago , and there served various Offices . He subsequently joined the Covent Garden Lodge , No . 1614 , and is now a P . M . and present Secretary . He was one of the Founders of the Anglo-American Lodge , No . 2191 , of which he is also P . M . and

present Secretary . He was exalted in the Lebanon Chapter , No . 1326 , and has just been elected M . E . Z . for the ensuing year . His name also appears as one of the Founders of the Covent Garden Chapter . For services rendered to the Covent Garden Lodge of Instruction he was , four years ago , presented with a handsome gold watch and chain , together with a testimonial on vellum , and an escritoire was added for the acceptance of Mrs . Reynolds .

-On the motion of the Deputy Provincial Grand Master , the sum of ten guineas was voted to the Fund of Benevolence of Grand Mark Lodge .

The Lodge having been closed the Brethren sat down to a banquet , the Deputy again presiding . The usual Mark toasts were honoured , and a musical programme arranged by Bro . Chapman Marshall Provincial Grand Organist was sustained by Miss Maud Bond , Miss E .

Welling , Miss Maude Poole , and Bro . Baskcomb . Mr . Fred Upton also gave his " sensation novels . " The duties of accompanist were in the able hands of Bro . W . Norman Eoe P . P . G . O .

The annual meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Masons of Kent was held at Gravesend on the 18 th ult ., under the banner of the Gordon Lodge , No . 364 , and was followed by a banquet at the New Falcon Hotel . o o o TEMPLE LODGE , No . 50 .

THE Annual meeting was held on the 22 nd ult ., at the Freemason ' s Hall , Plymouth , for the Installation of Bro . John Goad . Bro . W . Thomas the retiring W . M . presided , and the attendance included Bros . G . S . Strode-Lowe D . P . G . M ., & c . The ceremony of Installing the W . M . was most impressively performed by Bros . J . R . Lord and J . Kinton Bond , and the W . M . afterwards invested his Officers .
