THE Quarterly Communication of Supreme Grand Chapter was held on Wednesday , at Freemasons ' Hall . The throe Principals' chairs were occupied by Comps . W . W . B . Beach J . as M . E . Z ., P . A . Philbriek , Q . C , Grand Superintendent Essex as H ., and the Rev .

C . W . Spencer Stanhope Grand Superintendent Cheshire as J . After the reading and confirmation of tbe minutes of the November convocation , Lord A . S . Churchill was

invested as Scribe N ., and took his seat accordingly . Tho Report of tbe Committee of General Purposes was then taken as read and ordered to be entered on the minutes . Tha

report was published by us last week . Comp . Robert Grey moved and Comp . Frank Richardson seconded the different recommendations down to the refusal of fche application of tbe Royal Albert Edward Chapter , No . G 04 , New Zealand ,

to retain possession of its Charter . These having been carried , Coinp . Beach moved that tho first recommendation with regard to thc six additional Grand Officers in Supreme Grand Chapter be adopted , and Comp . Philbriek having seconded it , the recommendation was carried . With

respect to the recommended additions in Provincial aud Dirstrict Grand Chapters , Comp . Beach said he suggested that this be referred back to the Committee , as it was thought nofc fco be fair thafc thc addifions should be

dependent on thc number of Lod ges in a Province or District ; it should rather be dependent on the number of Chapters . Comp . Philbriek , who took the same view , seconded tho motion , which was carried . A discussion
