REPORTS OF MEETINGS .
We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report . Lodge or other proceedings . —' . o : — CRAFT : METROPOLITAN .
LEWIS LODGE , No . 1185 . ON Saturday , 20 th ult ., tho Brethren met at the King's Arms Hotel , Wood Green . Bro . W . T . Hewett W . M . presided , and there was a good muster present . During the evening a pleasing ceremony was performed by the W . M ., who presented to P . M . Row Treasurer a silver coffee-pot and milk jug , and
to P . M . Lloyd a clock , as a mark of the esteem in which each is held by the Lodge , and as a slight recognition of their long services . Each of the recipients responded in suitable terms . The proceedings were enlivened by the vocal efforts of several Brethren , notably amongst whom was P . M . Bro . Mackney , whose powers of ontertaining are as strong as ever ; he receiving groat applause . As host , P . M . Buxton performed his duties in a highly satisfactory manner .
PROVINCIAL
ST . GEORGE LODGE , No . 112 . ON St . George ' s Day the members held their annual Installation meeting at tho Masonic Hall , Exeter , when Brother Russell Coombe was installed Worshipful Master for the ensuing year . The members afterwards dined together at the New London Hotel .
LODGE OF INTEGRITY , No . 163 .
THE regular meeting was held at the Masonio Hall , Cooper Street , Manchester , on Wednesday , 24 th ult ., Bro . R . Alf . Hepworth W . M . Before Lodge was closed , attention was drawn to a circular which had been issued by Bro . Warburton , announcing the forthcoming Festival in aid of the East Lancashire Systematic Masonic Educational and Benevolent Institution , to be held at the Botanical Gardens , Old Trafford , on Wednesday , 3 rd July . Bro . Warburton solicited the co-operation of the Brethren , either by acting in the capacity of Stewards on the occasion , or by the forwarding of contributions should they feel so disposed . The usual festive board followed .
LODGE OF FAITH , No . 581 . THE regular meeting was held at the Gransmoor Hotel , Openshaw , on Wednesday , the 17 th ult ., there being present Bros . H . J . Harrison W . M ., Hy . B . Brown I . P . M ., Joseph Lever S . W ., Geo . H . Scott J . D ., J . C . Brown Tr ., J . M . Frost Sec , S . Whittaker P . M ., J . H . Keighley P . M ., Edwd . Roberts P . M . 1459 ( FREEMASON ' S CHBONICLE ) , Chas . H . Griffiths Std ., Wm , B . Gleave , John Joseph Walton , Stephen Watson , J . G . Hewson , Dr . E . E . Jones , and G . E . Mellor . After the reading and confirmation of minutes , Bro . John Joseph Walton , who had expressed a desire to further extend his researches into antient Freemasonry , was questioned as to his proficiency , and afterwards passed to the degree of F . C . by the W . M . The usual festive board followed , when Loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted and responded to .
That of the newly-passed Brother was proposed by Bro . Harrison W . M ., who expressed the conviction that from what he had already seen of tho candidate , the latter would make a good member among them . Bro . Walton , in reply , thanked the W . M . for his very kind wishes , and the Brethren for the cordial reception of the toast . He should endeavour to be a credit to the Lodge , and sincerely hoped he would be successful in his efforts . Bro . Walton also said he should be thoroughly satisfied if he got through the third degree as well as he had passed through the preceding
ones . Bro . H . B . Brown I . P . M . proposed the health of the W . M . in very flattering terms , saying he had performed all his work satisfactorily , and that he required no tutoring—no prompting . Bro . Harrison had recently suffered from a severe illness , but he was glad to see him looking so much better . Bro . Harrison W . M . replied , thanking tho Brethren for having appreciated his work , hoping at the same time that he would retain their confidence .
Bro . J . G . Hewson , of the Manchester concerts , took the lead by singing a very pleasing melody in his usual finished and artistic style . Other Brethren followed , all being accompanied on the piano by Bro . Dr . E . E . Jones .
WILLIAMSON LODGE , No . 949 . AT the last meeting of the Lodge , held at Monkwearmouth , Bro . Ernst Lauterbach was unanimously elected to the dignity of Worshipful Master , Bro . G . W . Bain was selected as Treasurer , and Bro . Thos . Green as Tyler .

C . was installed as W . M . for the ensuing year . The ceremony was performed by Bro . W . Wright P . P . G . J . D . The retiring W . M ., Bro . Woolgar , was awarded a Past Master ' s Jewel .
The installation banquet took place at the White Hart Hotol , a large party being present . The musical programme was sustained by Miss Alice Holman , Miss Blanche Day , Mr . C . A . Carville , and Master Fred Langrid ge , Mr . Horace Jackson being at the piano .
NORMAN LODGE , No . 1334 . A MEETING was held at the Masonic Hall , Old Elvet , Durham , on Wednesday , 17 th ult ., under the presidency of Bro . James Willan Worshipful Master . During the evening tho Provincial Officors paid an official visit to tho Lodge , amongst those who attended being Bro . K . Hudson P . G . S . B . Prov . G . Secretary .

The minutes of the last meeting having besn read and confirmed , a ballot was taken for Mr . William Robinson , Contractor , Pendleton , and being successful , this gentleman was initiated into antieflt Freemasonry by Bro . Sefton I . P . M ., assisted by Bros . Clough S . W ., and Clarkson J . W ., the former delivering the Charge , and tho latter presenting and explaining the Working Tools .
Bros . James Stewart and Joseph Hudson were then questioned , and afterwards passed into the degree of F . C , the former by Bro . Holland P . M ., and the latter by Bro . Mosley W . M ., the Working Tools being delivered by
Bro . Clarkson J . W . A proposition by Bro . Townson P . M . Charity Representative " that the sum of £ 20 bo contributed to the East Lancashire Systematic Masonic Educational and Benevolent Institution " was successful .
The Secretary was instructed to forward letters of sympathy and condolence to the following : Bros . Carver , on the death of his mother ; Statham P . M . P . P . G . Tr ., Duxbury P . M ., and Laudless in their illness . The Secretary was also requested to convey to Bro . Richard Mottram , Mayor of Salford , the deep sorrow which the members of tho Lodge felt in the severe
loss which he had sustained by the recent death of his father , Mr . Richard Elliott Mottram , which took place at his residence at Southport . For many years the deceased gentleman had carried on business as an extensive brewer in Salford , and resided in Adolphi Terrace in that borough . He was for a long period a member of the Salford Town Council , as one of the
representatives of St . Stephen ' s Ward , being raised to the aldermanic dignity m recognition of his services . He was eighty-one years of age . The Secretary was further instructed to communicate with Bro . William Hardcastle P . M . P . P . G . D . C . ( en voyage to Australia ) giving him especial authority to express the hearty good wishes of the members of the Albert Victor Lodge to the Brethren of any Lodge which he might visit while in the antipodes .
At the festive board , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were given and responded to . Bro . Eli Winterbottom proposed that of the Initiate , to which Brother Robinson , in answer , said it gave him sincere pleasure to respond . He had
been received in so hearty a manner , that if there was a time in his life -when he had derived satisfaction , it was that night . He would endeavour to act up to the principles which had been taught , and with a desire to add to rather than detract from the good feeling engendered , would pause before doing anything which might have a tendency to mar the harmony of the Lodge .
Bro . Hollaud P . M . proposed the health of the newly-passed Brethren , saying he hoped that as they progressed through the various ceremonies they would appreciate the beauties which were unfolded to their view . He also added that he hoped they had been impressed , and would remember the words of advice tendered to them .
Bro . Stewart thanked the Brethren for having allowed him to get a little higher in the Craft . He had certainly been struck with the impressiveness of the first ceremony , but he had been additionally impressed by the one performed that evening . He finished a very effective speech by saying that he regretted not having joined Freemasonry at an earlier period of his life .
Bro . Hudson also tendered his thanks , and said his impressions had been deepened by the ceremony of that night . He spoke very highly of the principles of Freemasonry as understood by him , and added that if all good
men were to join the Craft , we should soon have the mulenium . Other toasts followed , varied by songs , recitations , & c , rendered by Bros Tom Bradbury , John Harwood , W . E . Argyle , and G . L . Hardcastle . Bro Rev . Jas . Preston was the accompanist .
PRUDENCE AND INDUSTRY LODGE , No . 1953 . AT the monthly meeting on Wednesday , 24 th , at Chard , Bro . G . Gawler was elected Worshipful Master for the ensuing year .
STIRLING LODGE , No . 1989 . THE annual meeting for the installation of Worshipful Master was held at the Lodge Room , Market Hall , Cleator Moor , on Wednesday , 24 th ult ., and was well attended .
The ordinary routine business having been disposed of , the ceremony of installation was worked by Bro . John Barr P . M . 119 P . P . S . G . W ., who installed Bro . William Kcwley S . W . into the chair , according to ancient custom . The addresses were given by Bro . Gowan P . M . P . P . G . Sw . Br ., who also invested the Officers .
The Lodge work being over , the Brethren , on the invitation of the W . M ., adjourned to the main building of the Market Hall , where a banquet had been spread .
