Afier the loyal toasts had been honoured , that of the Chairman ( Bro . Witholl ) was proposed by Bro . Stenlake , who at the same time presented Bro . Withell with a handsome jewel , aubscribed for by members of the instruction class , in recognition of his valuable services as Preceptor . Altogether the evening was a most enjoyable one .

St . Osyth ' s Priory Lodge of Instruction , No . 2 QB 3 . — On Wednesday , 11 th ult ., a dinner to commemorate the end of the session was held at the Imperial Hotel , Clacton-on-Sea . Bro . Walter F . Reed W . M . 2063 Hon . Seoretary and Treasurer to the Lodge of Instruction being the host . The dinner was well served and much enjoyed by the brethren present . The room was prettily decorated

with bunting . The table was brightened up with ferns and flowering plants from the garden of Mr . W . Dove . The chair was occupied by Bro . Finer P . M . 1799 2063 Preceptor to the Lodge , the vice-chair by Bro . Captain Frayling P . M . 51 . In addition to the Chairman , Vice-Ohairman and Treasurer , there were present : —Bros . Nunn , Wilkinson , Harman 1799 , Schofield 1799 , Wade , Bowman 441 , Hill , Wright ,

Sargeant , Wallis , C . V . Harman , Wooding , Starling , Middleton , Noble , Brown , Sparling , Quick . After dinner the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were given , each meeting with a hearty response . Success to the Lodge of Instruction , coupled with the name of Bro . Reed , was received with enthusiasm . Bro . Reed , in his reply , gave a most favourable account of the' Lodge and its increasing numbers .

Several other toasts were given , including the Preceptor , the Stewards and Committee , the Visitors , & o . During the evening some good songs were rendered by Bros . Middleton , Frayling , Wilkinson , Reed , Brown , Wooding , Sparling , Harman , Starling . Brother Noble presided at the piano , and all present agreed that they had spent a most enjoyable evening .

Under the patronage of its distinguished President ( Bro . F . A . Philbriok , Q . C ., Dep . Prov . G . Master ) , this Masonio College is becoming famous for its excellent working , and is thus increasing iu popularity , it now numbering between 200 and 300 members . On Monday , 30 th ult ., between sixty and seventy expert Craftsmen were in attendance to witness the working of the Fifteen Sections . Bro . Jas .

Pinder P . M . occupied the chair , and conduoted these interesting and intricate lectures iu a most perfect manner , ably assisted by the following brethren : —Wm . Shurmur P . M . P . Z . Harris . It was proposed by Brother W . Shurmur ,

seconded by Bro . W . Peter Allen , that a very hearty vote of thanks be recorded on the in in rites to Bro . J . De Casseres , J . Oxley , B . Steward , J . Kuigbt , H . Whitney , H . Harris , aud L . Simmons for their very admirable and efficient help in working tbe sections , and they were unanimously elected honorary members . Thirteen brethren wore elected joiuing members .
