THE eleventh Convocation of this Provincial Grand Chapter was held at the Mitre Hotel , Hampton Court , on Monday , 22 nd ult , The M . E . Grand Superintendent of tho Province , Sir Francis Burdett , Bart ., presided , ami was supported by the following Provincial Officers : R , H . Thrnpp H ., W . Taylor J ., W . A . Dawson S . N ., H .

Committee was submitted , this showed a balance of £ 18 17 s ; it was formally adopted . Tho appointments of tho Provincial Grand H . and J . wero then made , and was followed by the election of Provincial Gr . Treasurer . The Prov . Gr . Snperintendent spoke of the services

rendered by Comp . Buss , who had filled the office of Treasurer since the foundation of the Province , and now , he regretted to say , was compelled torstirein consequence of ill health . Companion Inglis was nominated for the office , and was unanimously chosen . The

Chapter was opened and the minutes were confirmed . The Auditors' report was read and adopted . A ballot was taken for a Companion for the

office of H ., to take the place of Comp . Bo 3 well , who was elected at the last Convocation , but who had died in tho interval . Comp . Frances P . Z . was unanimously chosen . Comp . W . Vincent waa

installed M . E . Z . by Comp . H . Frances P . Z . Tho M . E . Z . installed Comp . Goddard as J . in his usual perfect and impressive manner . Comps . Masters was invested S . E ., Moss S . N ., Pulman P . Z . Treas ., Stewart P . S . Companions H . Vincent and C . Tuylor wore present

a * Visitors . A P . Z . ' s jewel was presented to the retiring M . E . Z ., Comp . Sawyer . A letter of condolence was voted to be sent to the widow of the late respected Companion Boswell , and then the Chapter was closed until October . A banquet followed , when the usual Loyal and Royal Arch toasts were given .

A convocation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Nottinghamshire will be held at , the Town Hall , Mansfield , on Tuesday , the 14 th inst ., at 2 * 30 p . m . Among the business to be transacted is the consecration of the Forest Chapter , No . 1852 . A banquet will take place at the Swan Hotel , at 5 o ' clock .

TEIE Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of tho Province of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight assembled at the Masonio Mall , Southampton , on Thursday , the 25 th ultimo . Tho Rev . Canon Portal , P . G . Mark Master , presided . After the transaction of the usual routine business of confirming minutes and receiving accounts , the Rev . Canon Portal said that he thought the time had arrived

when ho shonld vacate his position , and as this year the brethren would be called upon to make their triennial election of P . G . Mark Master he thought they shonld appoint some one to the oflSce who conld devote more time to the duties than be was able to do . He therefore proposed that Bro . Lord John Tavlonr P . G . S . W . should be

tho Provincial Grand Master . Bro . J . E . Le Feuvre , whilst acknowledging the high Masonic services of Lord John Taylour , said that the Province was proud of having at its head a Past Graud Master of iho Order . He was sure after the able manner the Rev . Canon Portal bad presided over them for the last fifteen years it would be

the unanimous wish of the brethren that he should continne to hold office . He therefore moved a resolution to that effect . Bro . Lord John Taylour seconded the nomination , and Canon Portal having

THIS event took place on Saturday , the 27 th ult ., at the Star and Garter Hotel , Kew Bridge , under most favourable auspices as to the future of the new Lodge . Old and tried members met in force , and the element of fresh blood was not wanting to preserve , and it may bo to increase the vigour of this branch of the Masonic

Order . A sure foundation was laid , and we believe the superstructure will bo worthy of tho geuius of the general body .
