REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings .

ZETLAND LODGE , No . 511 . nnHE first meeting since the installation of Bro . Moore as W . M . of this I Lodge took place on Wednesday , at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , when a very enjoyable evening was spent . The Worshipful Master passed Bros . F . G . Parker and E . R . IVY LODGE , No . 1441 . A MOST successful meeting of this Lodge took place on Tuesday , 23 rd ult ., at the Surrey Masonic Hall , Camberwell New Road , under the presidency of Bro . John Hills W . M ., who was supported by Bros . R . E . Lane I . P . M ., Heber Sternberg S . W ., Leopold Von Hill J . W ., B . Cooper P . M .

Rimboult Std ., J . Lee Tyler ; also Bros . T . C Barlow P . M ., Ernest Sinclair P . M ., Charles King , Hugh James , H . E . Lane , A . E . Mansfield , John Peters , H . J . Hawkey , A . D . Jesty , F . W . Butler , Adhemyr Ninon , J . Philpot , and several others .

There being a long programme of work , the Lodge was opened by the W . M . at 4-30 , and the minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge was advanced to the second degree , and Bro . J . Philpot being in attendance was examined and entrusted for the third , being subsequently raised to the sublime degree as a Master Mason .

The Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and Bro . Adhemyr Ninon and Bro . J . L . Teres were presented as candidates for the second ceremony , for which they were regularly prepared , and , the Lodge being resumed to the second degree , thoy were passed as Fellow Crafts .

The W . M . resumed the Lodge to the first degree , and the ballot was taken for Messrs . Clinton Stewart Anderson and Frederick Sylvester Raffailli , and proving unanimous in their favour , the W . M . had much pleasure in initiating those gentlemen ' into the mysteries of ancient Freemasonry , he giving the charge in able form .

The whole of the ceremonies were delivered in a most impressive manner , and having received well earned compliments from members and visitors the W . M . closed his Lodge , and the Brethren retired to the banqueting room , where an excellent supper was provided .

The usual loyal toasts were given by the W . M ., and duly honoured . The I . P . M ., in proposing the health of the W . M ., eulogised his many good qualities as a Mason . The way he had rendered the three ceremonies . was a great credit to him and tho Lodge . The toast was received with considerable enthusiasm , as was Bro . Hills who , in reply , said he should hut briefly acknowledge the . kind words

spoken of him . The Brethren could rest assured that his heart was with the Lodge . The Visitors' toast was given and acknowledged by several of the guests . The toast of the Past Masters was given , which compliment was responded to , and then the toast of the Officers followed , the response falling on Bros . Cooper P . M . Treasurer , T . W . Ingram P . M . Secretary , Heber Sternberg and Leopold Von Hill Wardens .

The Tyler ' s toast concluded a very interesting and pleasant evening , during which several Brethren added to the enjoyment with displays of their musical talent .

SIR HUGH MYDDELTON LODGE , No . 1602 . ON Friday , 12 th ult ., at the Royal Agricultural Hall , Islington , a meeting was held with full success . The business agenda disclosed work in each of the three degrees , and the result was a largo and interested attendance of Brethren of the Lodge and visitors . After the formalities of opening , at the request of the W . M . Bro . H . Pickett occupied the Master ' s chair , and opened the Lodge to the third

degree , when Bros . R . Edwards and W . Dower completed succession to the degree . The acting W . M . then resumed the Lodge in the second degree , and entry to this was made by Bros . F . W . Barton and J . Begg ; the Master then resuming , the Lodge was re-opened in the first degree , and to the privileges in this Messrs . M . Cohen , L . J . Souhami , G . Heath , and J . E . Ellson were granted knowledge and admission .

The subject relative to holding the annual ball , in aid of the charities , was introduced , and by general consent was remitted to a special committee for further consideration as to details and dates . The business of the Lodge having been concluded , the Brethren adjourned to the Pillar Hall , where an excellent and promptly served menu was taken .

Bro . Pickett I . P . M ., in submitting as a proposition " Our Worshipful Master , " said it was the first time since the installation that he had had the honour to make this proposal , which was done with all the cordiality of good feeling that it was possible for anyone to have . There had been circumstances to prevent the W . M . being with them on the last two occasions , but

happily these had almost passed away , and they were all glad to see him iu his place again . Anyone judging by the perfect manner with which he had worked the first degree in the presence of such a large Lodge would know that they would have in him a worthy Master . In tho name of all the Brethren he tendered to him a hearty greeting , assuring him of full loyalty of endeavour to make his term both happy and prosperous . ' The W . M ., in reply , thanked them for the very kind reception , and also for the welcoming speech of the I . P . M ., both of which he heartily appreciated

Reports Of Meetings.

It was true that there had beon some circumstances which were partly due to his absence from the last two meetings , but he was pleased to think that these had been removed , and he had acknowledged the great assistance Bro . Dowse had rendered him in their removal . He was glad to be with them

again , aud hoped that the words of the I . P . M . would come true , and that his term would be both prosperous and happy . Bro . Wheeler , on the conclusion of his response , submitted the Initiates , to whom he gave hearty welcome , and the encouragement of hope for progress .

Bro . Cohen , in reply , thanked them for the privilege of initiation into an Order he had for years desired to enter , and the ritual of which had so greatly impressed him that he should strive to win an honourable position among them . Bro . Souhami , continuing , said he wished to echo the last speech , and should endeavour fco follow the same rule .

Bro . George Heath also returned thanks for his entry . He would strive to earn the bast position that the Lodge could bestow , and thus justify his reception . Bro . Ellson , after thanking the Brethren for his admission , adverted to the ritual , which had made such a marked impression upon him that he hoped everyone would live up to it , as in such circumstances life would be the better and nobler for acting up to its spirit and teaching .

The Master then proposed the I . P . M ., to whom , as they wore aware , he was indebted for the great assistance so kindly and willingly rendered . They all knew the worth of the I . P . M ., and consequently words in recommendation of his proposal would be as fulsome as thoy were unnecessary . It was only a Master that could , perhaps , fully understand tbe value of such service as Bro . Pickett had so efficiently rendered , and in making this proposition he

hoped that tho I . P . M . would accept his best personal thanks . Bro . H . Pickett , in reply , said that the Master ' s manner in making this proposal only once more showed his good nature . It certainly was correct that he had at request been able to render service in the way mentioned , but it would always give him pleasure to do what he could , and he was sure that

either of the Past Masters would be as willing when occasion required it , as was seen in the case of P . M . Bro . Cave that day as J . W . He sincerely hoped that they would all be together for very many years , and that each one would bo happy with them all . Other toasts followed , says the " Holborn Guardian . "

SCOTS LODGE , No . 2319 . ON Thursday , 25 th ult ., the members held their regular meeting ' at the Holborn Restaurant , and celebrated St . Andrew ' s Day on the same occasion . Dr . D . M . Forbes Worshipful Master , who presided , was supported by a large company of Brethren . Mr . William Bain , a native of Caithness , merchant , Bow Road , London , was initiated into Freemasonry , and the Secretary W . D . A . Ross reported that tho scheme for renewing the annual ladies' banquet , concert , and ball had been approved of by all the members of the Lodge . After the working of the Lodge the Brethren partook of a banquet , and honoured the usual toasts .
