During Bro . J . Wildbore ' s tenure of office this grand old Lodge ( established in 1734 ) has continued its sphere of usefulness and benevolence ; worthy men have been admitted to the privileges of the Craft , and if these Brethren are faithful to the noble tenets and guiding principles of the Boyal Order , the " great brotherhood of man " should be benefited . The red-letter
day in a Freemason's life is , without question , next to his acceptance and initiation , the day when he is installed as the Worshipfnl Master of hia Mother Lodge . Bro . Wildbore's eminent services were fittingly acknowledged by Bro . T . G . Milner ( the Borough Treasurer ) as the Sen . Warden , presenting to him as a souvenir from the Brethren , a gold Past Master ' s jewel , bearing the following inscription :
Presented to BRO . JAMES WILDBORE , by the members of the Humber Lodge , Mo , 67 , as a mark of their appreciation of his services aa their Worshipful Master , 1894
Bro . Wildbore was much touched with the spontaneous good feeling of his Brethren , and feelingly acknowledged their handsome gift . Bro . Corris P . M . ( Her Majesty ' s

THE Installation meeting took place at the Masonic Hall and Club , Plymouth , on Thursday , 27 th ult ., when Brother G . E . Stanlake was installed W . M . The Officers having been invested Brother P . B . Westlake was appointed Eepresentative of the Lodge on the Committee of Petitions , and Bro . W . T . Hocking Charity Steward .
In the evening the Brethren , to the number of about seventy , sat down to the annual banquet in the Club , Bro . S . Harvey , the Steward , serving an excellent repast . The W . M . presided , the vice-chairs being filled by Bros . J , H . Evans and G . Leach . The Loyal toasts having been honoured , Brother J . Hicks proposed the Viscount Ebrington P . G . M . and Officers of P . G . Lodge , and Bros . Westlake and Kevern responded .

M . and the oldest member of the Lodge , having been connected with it forty years ; he had , therefore , had a long and varied experience . A Master should carry out his work properly , rule firmly , but withal genially , and he had no doubt that Brother Stanlake would prove ono of the most perfect Worshipful Masters Lodge St . John had ever had .
The W . M ., who was cordially received , said , in response , that Lodge St . John had been in existence 139 years , during which time it had been in constant work , and he felt it a great honour to have been chosen by the Brethren to fill that chair in succession to a long line of worthy Masters . He hoped to have a harmonious and successful year of office . In asking the Brethren to attend their Lodge regularly and promptly , he appealed to them to exercise that one great virtue—Charity .
