This , and the two former ceremonies were given in such a perfect manner as to afford general satisfaction . We congratulate the members on possessing such an able working Preceptor as Bro . Davis .

Bro . Darby , of the Kensington Lodge , and landlord of the Hotel , was unanimously elected a member , which compliment was duly acknowledged . On account of the illness of Bro . W . J . Mason V . P . Board of General Purposes Secretary of the Lodge , the annual supper will be postponed until further notice . We wish Bro . Mason speedy recovery .

WOODROW LODGE , No . 1708 . ON Monday afternoon , at 3 o'clock , at Brother Rudderforth ' s ( Stone's ) Restaurant , Panton Street , Haymarket . As announced in our last issue the popular Preceptor had arranged to occupy the chair , and an exceptionally good attendance assembled to witness the working of Bro . C .

Woodrow P . M . as W . M . He was supported by Bros . F . Walker S . W ., W . West J . W ., 0 . Wetton W . M . acting Preceptor , I . W . Simeons Sec , E . Wavell P . M . S . D ., J . E . Culverhouso J . D .. A . Butcher I . G ., W . H . Rudderforth P . M ., L . Mutter , A . Espezel , E . R . Knight , L . Lake , E . Nice , A . Stanley , J . Wynman , and several others . ,

The Lodge was opened to the second degree , when the W . M . intimated his intention of rehearsing the ceremony of raising , for which Bro . Lake offered himself as candidate . In due order the ceremony of raising was rehearsed , after which the W . M . gave the explanation of the tracing board . By desire of the W . M ., Bro . Nice , with the assistance of the Brethren , worked the first section of the degree . We cannot speak too highly of the perfect working of the W . M ., while praise is also due to Bro . Nice .

The W . M . resumed the Lodge to the first degree , 'and the following Brethren were proposed as members : —A . Stanley 2345 , L . Lake 87 , and E . R . H . Knight 1585 . The ballot was unanimously in their favour , which compliment was duly acknowledged by each . Bro . F . Walker was elected W . M . for next Monday .

BROMLEY ST . LEONARD LODGE , No . 1805 . AT the Bow Bells , Bow Road , on Wednesday , Bro . J . DeCasseres P . M . W . M ., G . Fennell P . M . S . W ., Moss Corper J . W ., Goodman S . D ., Soar J . D ., F . A . Slater I . G ., Harris P . M ., Thornton Sec . acting Preceptor . About thirty-five Brethren were present , when the Lodge was opened in

the three degrees , and resumed to the first . Bro . J . J . Hall P . M . then proceeded with what proved to be a very interesting and instructive lecture , to which he must have devoted much time , expense and trouble to get the necessary information . A very interesting discussion followed by Bros . De Casseres , F . A . Slater , Harris , Newport , & c

Those Brethren who have an opportunity of at any time hearing Bro . Hall ' s lecture will do well to avail themselves of it . A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Bro . Hall , and honorary membership was conferred upon him . Bro . Boyce will occupy the chair at the meeting on Wednesday next .

DUKE OF CORNWALL LODGE , No . 1839 . THE Brethren of this well known Lodge of Instruction assembled on Monday , at the comfortable rooms of Bro . George Stevenson , the Whittington Restaurant , Moor Lane , Moorgate Street . Present : —Bros . W . Vincent Jull W . M . 2264 W . M ., W . Wright S . W ., J . Almond P . M . J . W ., C . H . Knuth W . M . 1839 acting Prec , Percy Gray acting Sec , R . E . BarnesS . D ., Ashby J . D .. H . Saqui I . G ., J . D . Thomson P . M . 198 , A . Haynes , G . Stevenson , R . S . Chandler , Sowden , W . Sabine , F . J . Houldsworth , E . W . Yeoman , J . Wynman .

The Lodge was opened to the second degree , and Bro . Chandler oflered himself as a candidate . After having answered the usual questions he was entrusted , the Lodge advanced , and the ceremony of raising rehearsed in a perfect manner . The W . M . changed places with Brother Knuth acting Preceptor , and that Brother rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , Bro . Houldsworth candidate .

Bro . R . E . Barnes 871 , E . W . Yeoman 1489 , and Robert Stanley Chandler were proposed as members , were unanimously accepted , and duly acknowledged the compliment . Bro . W . Wright , of the Duke of Cornwall Lodge , was elected W . M . for next meeting .

ECONOMY LODGE , No . 76 . rriHE annual installation took place at Winchester , on Wednesday -IL afternoon , 26 th ult ., before a distinguished company and a full Lodge of members , and with unusual interest , inasmuch as the W . M .-elect Bro . R . J . Harris was installed by his father , Bro . J . Harris P . P . G S . W an old member of '' 76 , " and very ably and impressivel y did he carry out the ancient and splendid ritual .

nrc * Grand Master Br ° - W . W . B . Beach , M . P . and several of his Uihcers entered the Lodge in procession before the ceremony began , and joined the Board of Installed Masters , which consisted of over 36 members After the ceremony the W . M . thanked the Provincial Grand Master for attending with his Officers , and Bro . Beach received , both in virtue of his othce and as an old member of the Lodge , a hearty greeting and welcome , wtu-m lie genially acknowledged , and congratulated the Installing Master on his splendid working .

Before closing the Lodge a most interesting incident occurred , viz the presentation of a most luxurious easy chair and beautifully illuminated testamur on vellum to Bro . Gamon , who for eighteen years has discharged me onerous duties of Lodge Secretary , and won the regard of the Brethren

always . Bro . W . Carter made the presentation , on behalf of the Brethren , in a neat speech , and Bro . Gamon , who was overcome by his feelings at the surprise to him , expressed his thanks , and afterwards , at the postprandial proceedings , at greater length .

About sixty Brethren proceeded to the Guildhall , where Bro . Clowser served a recherche repast , which was followed by the usual toasts and music , and fraternal harmony , the new W . M . proving a capital president , and receiving a hearty welcome after his health had been proposed by Bro . T . Stopher , one of the " fathers " of the Lodge .

FORTITUDE LODGE , No . 105 . THE annual festival was held at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel , Plymouth , , on Wednesday , 26 th ult ., and was presided over by Bro . Frank Maitland W . M . About eighty were present .

The usual Masonic toasts were- proposed during the evening . Prominent reference was made to the good that is being dong in the Province by means of the three Masonic charities , and a hope was expressed that the Brethren would give those Institutions such liberal support that their usefulness might be extended and enlarged .

LODGE OF INTEGRITY , No . 163 . mHE regular meeting and festival of St . John took place at the JL Freemasons' Hall , Cooper Street , Manchester , on Wednesday , 26 th ult ., Bro . Herbert A . Owles W . M . There was an attendance of upwards of fifty members and visitors .

After the reading and confirmation of minutes , a ballot , which was successful , was taken for Bro . Chas . Slee ( late of this Lodge ) who was desirous of becoming a re-joining member . Then followed the installation , of Bro . Frederick Walmsley S . W ., the ceremony being performed by Bro . Joseph Wildgoose P . M . P . P . J . G . D ., assisted by Past Masters of the Lodge . The Board of Installed Masters was

composed as follows : —Bro . Wildgoose in the principal chair , Brothers J . M . H . Blarney as S . W ., T . H . Soholfield P . P . G . R . as J : W ., R . L . McMillan as C . G ., and Owles as Deacon . The addresses to the Master and Wardens were delivered by Bro . Soholfield , that to 'the Brethren by Bro . D . D . Macpherson , while Bro . J . M . Sinclair P . P . G . D .. invested the following

Nineteen Installed Masters witnessed the very excellent work of this multiparous ceremony . A pleasing function which followed formed the' apex to the day's proceedings , viz .: the presentation to Bro . Sinclair of a handsome gold watch , and a beautifully illuminated address , which was in book form . The watch contained Bro . Sinclair's monogram , and also the following inscription : —

sincere thanks for the able and disinterested manner in which you have for tho last twelve years performed the important duties of that office ; also our high appreciation of the work you have done in the Lodge , not only as its Treasurer , but in the numerous other offices which you have held during the long period of twenty-five years membership .

That you should have filled so important an office by election of the Brethren for so long a period proves at once an earnest desire on your part to promote the interests of the Lodge , and that you have won and uninterruptedly maintained the trust and entire confidence of your fellow members .

We ask your acceptance of the accompanying gift , in the hope that it will serve to remind you of happy associations , and be a constant witness of our regard and esteem for yourself . We regret your retirement , and trust that you will in the future , as in the past , permit us to have the pleasure of your company amongst us , aud

Bro . Wildgoose , in making the presentation on behalf of the Lodge , referred in eulogistic terms to the many services rendered by the recipient , and explained that when the idea of marking such services by a substantial recognition was mentioned to the Brethren , it met with an immediate response .

Bro . Sinclair , in replying , thanked the Brethren in a most heartfelt manner for their very handsome presents given to him through the medium of Bro . Wildgoose . The address he should often read with pleasure , as it would mark a period in his life which he could look back upon with satisfaction , while the watch ho hoped to be enabled to hand down to his son , who , by the bye , might in the near future become ono of their number , as it was his

intention to join the Lodgo of Integrity . Continuing , Bro . Sinclair said he had been connected with the Lodge for a quarter of a century , twenty-two years of which time he had been in office of some description . During the latter period he had not missed a single meeting , and he sincerely hoped that those who followed him would be equally as zealous in the discharge of thc important duties connected with the position . He had never for a moment anticipated any recognition of his services , which had always been a labour

Wildgoose , in making the presentation on behalf of the Lodge , referred in eulogistic terms to the many services rendered by the recipient , and explained that when the idea of marking such services by a substantial recognition was mentioned to the Brethren , it met with an immediate response .

Bro . Sinclair , in replying , thanked the Brethren in a most heartfelt manner for their very handsome presents given to him through the medium of Bro . Wildgoose . The address he should often read with pleasure , as it would mark a period in his life which he could look back upon with satisfaction , while the watch ho hoped to be enabled to hand down to his son , who , by the bye , might in the near future become ono of their number , as it was his

intention to join the Lodgo of Integrity . Continuing , Bro . Sinclair said he had been connected with the Lodge for a quarter of a century , twenty-two years of which time he had been in office of some description . During the latter period he had not missed a single meeting , and he sincerely hoped that those who followed him would be equally as zealous in the discharge of thc important duties connected with the position . He had never for a moment anticipated any recognition of his services , which had always been a labour
