R . M . I . BOYS .

WE have much pleasure in announcing that Bro . Charles E . Keyser , J . P ., M . A ., F . S . A ., P . G . Deacon Treasurer and Patron of the Institution has kindly consented to preside at the 101 st Anniversary Festival , due to be held in June next .

Devon Educational Fund.

DEVON EDUCATIONAL FUND .

A MEETING of subscribers to the Devon Masonic Educational Fund was held on the 1 st inst ., at the Freemasons' Hall , Plymouth , for the election of a candidate on the fund . Bro . C . S . Stebbing presided , and there was a large attendance , including Bros . F . B . Westlake , J . E . Lord Hon . Treasurer , J . B . Gover Hon . Secretary , and others .

There were three candidates for the single vacancy , and about 3 , 550 votes were issued . Considerable interest was taken in the election , no fewer than 3 , 363 votes being recorded . Of this number 1 , 807 were given to the child of a deceased Brother of

Brunswick Lodge , No . 159 , Plymouth ; 1 , 086 to the child of a deceased Brother of Lodge Concord , No . 1135 , llfracombe * , and 470 to a child whose father formerly belonged to an Exeter Lodge . The first-named was admitted .

We tender our congratulations to our esteemed'Brother Albert Lucking , who was specially honoured on Saturday last , in having the Albert Lucking Lodge consecrated at Southend by the Earl of Warwick Provincial Grand Master

of Essex . Bro . Lucking has long been associated with the Craft , and has filled the office of Director of Ceremonies of his Province for the last twenty-five years , winning esteem

and regard from all with whom he came in contact . We trust he may live to see the Lodge named after him prosper for many years , and grow in usefulness as its sponsor has done .

We have received a copy of Bro . Sadler ' s latest work , " Masonic reprints and historical revelations , " which will doubtless be regarded as a veritable prize by Brethren who are interested in the far off history of the Craft , and the

basis on which the great Fraternity of to-day is founded . We shall take an early opportunity of referring more fully to its contents , but meanwhile we cordially recommend the

book to any of our readers who may desire to make themselves acquainted with some of the more important events in the younger days of Modern Freemasonry .

Friends of Bro . George Railing , assistant editor of the "Cape Argus , " and who was formerly at the head of the literary staff of the "Royal Cornwall Gazette , " at Truro , will be pleased to learn that he is now on the way to recovery

from a long and tedious illness , says the " Newspaper Owner and Manager . " Bro . Railing has been laid by for some months , but he has happil y taken a decided turn for the better , and his recovery will , it is hoped , be speedy and complete—a wish we cordially endorse .

The annual Ladies night and Ball of the Confidence Lodge , No . IQ 3 , will take place at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , on Tuesday , the 29 th inst . The price of tickets is ,

for Gentlemen 15 s , ior Ladies 12 s 6 d . We hope the members of No . 193 will have as enjoyable a meeting as any in the history of this popular Lodge .

The annual meeting ofthe St . J ohn Lodge of Instruction , No . 1343 , was held at the Queen ' s Hotel , Grays , the new quarters of the Lodge , on Wednesday , under the presidency of Bro . Joseph Weymouth . A report of the proceedings will appear in our next issue .
