He was told the health of the

Worshipful Master had not been as good lately as they could have wished it . He could assure the brethren that when he was informed that Bro . Hogard was ill he thought it would be nest to a calamity if the illness extended over many more days . They were very gratified to see him in the ohair thafc night , and they trusted he would have better health during hia year of office . Bro . Hogard

said for tbe very cordial way the brethren had received the toast he could only express bis very poor but very sincere thanks . The Highbury Lodge had been from ita formation a success . They had not gone about to get in a large number of brethren , but they had cot together a number of good brethren . He was one of the founders of the Lodge , and he now found himself in tho proud position of

Worshipful Master . He expressed hia best thanks for the very cordial and flattering terms in whioh Brother Barnett had given fche toast , and if he could do anything for tho good of the Highbury Lodge he should do so with the greatest pleasure . The W . M ., ia proposing the toasfc of the Visitors , said ifc had been in the Highbury Lodge a very desirable custom to receive visitors at

their Lodge and festive board . He was very pleased to receive visitors , because whilst their number added to the dignity of the Lodge , they also gave an incentive to the W . M . and the Officers to perform fche duties wifch a little more care than they might otherwise do . They had a long list of visitors present , bufc he would call on Bros . Acworth , Gallaher , Hayes , Dr . Goddard , and Dodson to

respond . The toasfc was heartily drank and replied to , after whioh the W . M . proposed the Past Masters of the Lodge , aud referred in eulogistic terms to the services the Past Masters had given to the Lodge , mentioning in particular the services of Bro . Edgar Bowyer , the first Master . The W . M . also alluded to the serrioes of Bro . John Barnett jun ., who had performed every ceremony whioh bad

come before him in a most masterly way , concluding in the excellent manner in which he had installed his successor . While they hid such Past Masters in fche Highbury Lodge ifc mast continue to prosper . Bro . Barnett , in responding , said the Highbury Lodge had never beeu opened without his being present . He had done the work to the best of his ability , aud if it had beeu done to the satisfaction of the

brethren-with whom he had been associated he was perfectly satisfied . Bro . Hastings Miller also replied . He said there was only sincerity in his heart with regard to Masonry . He had done all he could for that grand and glorious cause . As one of its founders be took great interest in tbe Lodge , and it had given him great pleasure to seo Bro . who was elected and initiated into Freemasonry by Bro . Richardson P . M . P . P . G . D . Bro . Mandleberg was , at a later stage , raised to tha sublime degree of a M . M . by the W . M ., aud there being no further business the Lodge was closed .
