Ferguson was elected Master for 1883 ; he , in acknowledging the compliment , said : Worshipfnl Master and brethren , I thnnk yon very sincerely for tho honourable position yon have thought fit to place me in as Master of this Lodge for the ensuing year , and I trust I shall receive from each member , as well as from the Past Masters and Officers of the Lodge ,
their hearty snpport and assistance in carry ing out the good work of the Lodge , and that at the end of my year of office , I may vacate the chair with credit to tho Lodge . I must admit it is with somo diffidence that I accept the position , but I hope that at the end of my Mastership it will bo found that your confidence has not been misplaced . The election of Treasurer resulted in the prosent W . M . 's
appointment . Bro . Hemmings was re-elected Ty ler . Somo discussion took place respecting tho demise of Bro . Jonathan Leaver ( for 36 years Secretary of tho Lodge ) , at Moulsford , in tbe parish of Cholsey , where ho was buried without the knowledge of the Freemasons of Reading . It is in contemplation to erect a monument , either a
tablet , stone , or window ; the subject will be resumed at a future Lodge . All business being ended , Lodge was closed according to ancient form . The installation of Bro . Ferguson will take place on the third Tuesday in January . We congratulate Bro . Mount on a successful year of office , and on his having been appointed the Senior Grand Warden of tbe Province of Berks and Bucks .
