LODGE OF RELIEF , No . 42 . ON Wednesday , 27 th ult ., the installation took place at the Grey Mare Hotel , Bury , in the presence of a large number of visiting brethren . Bro . J . W . Mackie was duly installed , the ceremony being performed by Bros . J . Bedfern P . M . P . P . G . P ., T . Kigby P . M , and S . Cox I . P . M . The Officers were invested .

At the conclusion of the ceremonies the brethren celebiated the festival of St . John , and sat down to an excellent banquet seived by Mr . B . L . and Mrs . Duckworth . The usual Masonic and other toasts were honoured . o o o

ON Tuesday tho brethren attended in large numbers to witness and take part in the installation of Bro . W . J . Goodenough S . W . as W . M . ON the 27 th ult ., the brethren and visitors assembled at the Bridge Inn , Bury , for the installation of Bro . J . Nuttall as W . M . lor the ensuing year , the installing Officers being Bros . W . Wood P . M . P . P . G . St . B ., J . Comfort P . M ., and Worsley I . P . M . The Officers were afterwards invested . The brethren adjourned to banquet , which Bro . B . and Mrs . ON Monday at the Freemasons' Hall , Plymouth , Bro . S . Jenkins was installed as W . M . Bros . W . J . Newell , W . E . Chappel , W . Thomas , and T . Parker weie the installing officers . A handsome gold Past Master's jewel was presented to Bro . W . J . Newell on his retirement . A committee was appointed to arrange for making a presentation to Bro . W . X . Michell on his retiring from tbe office of Secretary , after having very creditably carried out its duties for a quarter of a century .

Alter the minutes had been read and confirmed , the annual balance sheet was submitttd and received . The report of the Ledge Benevolent Fund was also presented , the balance in hand amounting to the handsome sum oi £ '/ 90 . Bro . Hands , who was initiated at the previous meeting , having proved his proficiency , was passed to the second degree . The ballot was taken ano proved unanimous in favour oi Mr . Daniel Cohen , but as he was not in attendance the

initiation was jostponed . Ihe next duty was the installation ol the new Master Bio . B . Weigel , ha * , ing been unanimously elected at the previous meeting , was duly presented and signified his assent to the ancient charges and regulations . He was subsequently installed in the chair of King Solomon , and regularly saluted by the brethren in the thiee degrees , the ceremony being aomiiably delivered by Bro . Garrard .

The W . M . appointed the following Officers for the ensuing j ear : Seigenberg S . W ., Koco J . W ., Lyon P . M . Treasurer , L . Lazarus P . M . Secretary , Davy S . D ., Onken J . D ., Kosenberg I . G ., P . M . Dodson D . C , Bahr and Why ! Stewards , and Gaskell 'J ' yler . Bro . Garrard gave the addresses to the W . M ., the Officers and Lodge generally

in such a manner as to elicit the commendation oi the brethren ; and the proposition ot Bro . Lazarus that a vote ol thanks should be accoiaed to Bio . Garrard and entered on the Loage minutes , was carried with acclamation . The Lodge was then closed and the company adjourned to the banquet room .

A very handsome Past Master ' s jewel was presented to Bro . Garrard during the evening , which was enlivened by a capital entertainment under the direction of Miss Eva Weigel , daughter of the new Master . o o o

Ward ) with a Past Master ' s jewel . The Officers for the ensuing year were appointed . In the evening a banquet was held at the Westgate Hotel .

The business being concluded , the brethren adjourned to Bro . John Kowe ' s Monmouth Inn , where an excellent banquet was provided . Alter the removal of the cloth the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were given and responded to . o o o

THE annual installation and festival took place on Tuesday , at the Masonic Hall , Cardiff , Bro . F . W . it . Hybart succeeding Bro . Harry Samuel as W orshipful Master . There was a large attendance of members of the Lodge , and also visiting brethren . The installation ceremony was most impressively performed by the retiring W . M .

Following the installation was a banquet given at the Angel Hotel , when ihe usual toast list was gone through , the toasts being interspersed with musical contributions by the brethren . Tbe new W . M . was heartily congiatuiated upon attaining to a position which there is every indication of his filling with credit both to himself and the associations of the position . o o o
