DISTRICT GRAND LODGE OF CANTERBURY , B . C . THE regular Quarterly Communication of the District Grand Lodge of Canterbury , E . G ., was held in the St . Augustine Masonic Hall , Christchnrch , on the 19 th of January , when there was a good attendance . Tho District Grand Lodge was opened in form with solemn prayer at 7 . 30 p . m .

The minutes of the last Communication were read and confirmed-Apologies for non-attendance were received from several brethren . The D . G . Treasurer stated the balance to be—In Bank , £ 62 9 s 2 d ; on Deposit , £ 358 15 s ; total , £ 421 4 s 2 d . On the roll being called , ten Lodges were represented .

The following correspondence was read : — From the Grand Secretary , London , in reply , re petitioners for a new Lodge , being registered English Masons—stating that " The question had been before tbe G . M . more than once , and it had always been ordered tbat petitioners should be English registered "Masc-us , adding that ifc is nofcinuisfced that all reside on the spot . "
