not so constant an attendant at the Lodge of Instruction as he could wiBh , and indeed owed his position that night to the fact of his being present W . M . of the mother Lodge . He specially journeyed from Newcastle to be presont , and was amply rewarded by the reception accorded him . Prosperity to the Lodge of Instruction was the

next toast . Lodges of Instruction were far more important , in the opinion of the Worshipful Master , than many Masons seemed to imagine . The proceedings at weekly meetings of these Lodges , when brethren attended in their regular every day surroundings , did much to impress them with the dignity and importance of

Freemasonry , and tea oh them the lessons of its beautiful ceremonies and ritual . Freemasonry , indeed , should give a colouring to the every action of a true brother . He ( Bro . Haller ) should take the opportunity of mentioning their Lodge of Instruction at their next regnlar Lodge gathering , and should then impress on the

members the desirability of supporting it . With the toast was associated the name of Bro . Talbot , the Preceptor , whom the Worshipful Master characterised as a man well able to give the instruction necessary in such a Lodge as theirs . He was really marked out as a leader among his fellows , and well deserved the

high honour oonferred on him . They must all hope his present actions would ultimately lead him to the highest rungs of the Masonio ladder . Bro . Talbot returned his sincere thanks . He assured those present be actually loved the Prosperity Lodge of Instruction . Every week he liked it more and

more , and his only regret was that a larger number of brethren did not avail themselves of its gatherings . It would be their constant endeavour to impart all the instruction it was in their power to give . The toast of the Visitors was heartily given , and to this Brother Hetheridge replied , after whioh was given the Masonio Press ,

acknowledged by Bro . W , W .
