Townsend Org ., E . H . Smyth A . D . C ., E . A . Wass Stwd ., Frank Lloyd I . G ., Charles Plant P . M . Tyler .

The minutes being confirmed , the Lodge was advanced to the second degree , when Bro . E . H . C . Smyth was examined and entrusted . The Lodge was opened in the third , and in due course that Brother was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason . Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and Bros . W . A . Trathen and John Goff answered the questions , were entrusted and retired . Lodge was resumed in the second degree and those Brethren were passed .

Lodge was again resumed to the first degree , and Mr . Ernest Joseph Bird having been highly recommended by Bro . T . A . Rawlings and by the Worshipful Master , was , after the usual formalities , duly initiated into the mysteries of Ancient Freemasonry . The whole of the working was perfectly carried out .

The W . M . announced that the annual election of Worshipful Master , Treasurer and Tyler would then take place . Bro . Earle Douglas Side P . M . said it was decided amongst the Past Masters that they withdraw from the ballot , and they hoped that the vote would be unanimous in favour of Bro . James Farmer S . W . The

election then took place , and we were pleased to hear the announcement from the chair that Bro . Farmer was unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing twelve months . In making the announcement , the W . M . said the chosen Brother was fully qualified for the high position . He sincerely congratulated him .

It was proposed that the outgoing Master should be presented on his retirement from the chair with the usual Past Master ' s jewel , for the able way in which he had fulfilled the duties of the chair during his year of Office . had been hard at work during his year of Office , and judging by appearances it would be the same with the W . M .-elect . The present W . The W . M . next proposed the toast of the I . P . M . , whom he described as a Brother always willing to help . He had received great assistance and continued support from him during + he past year . Whenever he was in trouble Bro . Gabell was ahv-. ys ready to assist him .

Bro . Gabell , in impressive terms thanked the Brethren for their kind reception on all occasions . The next toast the W . M . said required a " thundering" fireit was the health of the initiate . Neither that nor any other Lodge could go on without candidates , During the last three or four years
