r PHE annnal installation meeting of the brethren , postponed from -L last month , was held at the Royal Pavilion , Brighton , on Tuesday evening , the 25 th nit . Th « preliminary meeting was opened by the W . M . Bro . W . B . Isworh . The Lod- » e having been closed the brethren sat down to an excellent banquet , served np in good style by Bro . J . Sayers , of Western-road . The W . M . Brother W . S . Isworth presided . The usual loyal toasts having been duly

honoured , the W . M . proposed tho Officers of the Grand Lodge Present and Past , to whioh Bro . Kuhe P . G . O . responded . The toaat of the R . W . Provincial Grand Master the Duke of Connaught was given by the W . M ., who also proposed the W . Dapnty Provincial Grand Master the Right Hon . Sir W . T . Marriott , Q . C , M . P ., Judge Advocate General , P . G . Steward , and the Officers of Provincial Grand

Lodge Present and Past . In responding for the latter toast Bro . C . J . Corder P . P . S . G . W . remarked that it was thirty years since he was appointed a Provincial Officer , and he supposed he should be regarded as a fossil and liable to be placed in the large case prepared for Masonio relics . However , he and the other Past Provincial Officers were at all times prepared to assist the Present Officers

whenover their services were required . Bro . J . Stude P . P . J . G . W . also acknowledged the toast . He had been a Provincial Officer , he said , for twenty years , but was not prepared to be put in the case for relios . He had spent many pleasant hours in Freemasonry and was pleased to find his old friend and neighbour ooonpying the position of W . M . He hoped that he ( Bro . Isworth ) would have health

and strength to discharge his duties with satisfaction and hononr to the Lodge . Bro . W . Balohin Prov . G . D . of C , in responding for the present Officers , said that he could not claim to havo been thirty years in office , having only been born at the time Bro . Corder was honoured with Provincial Grand Office . He and the other Provincial Officers recently appointed would , however , do their utmost to

assist in the work of the Province and in maintaiuing its high honour . The I . P . M . Bro . H . Edwards then propo « od tho Worshipful Master of tho Lodge . The toast , he said , had usually been termed tho toast of tho evening . He would , however , call it the toast of the year , and trusted that Bro . Isworth would experience health and happiness during his year of office . In happy and eulogistic terms he spoke of

Bro . Isworth's zeal , whioh he had shewn in the discharge of the duties of the various offices through which he had passed in the Lodge , and had tbe greatest confidence in predicting a very happy year under the W . M . ' s rule . Bro . Isworth , who was enthusiastically received ou rising to respond , said he failed to find words to express his gratitudo to the brethren for the cordial manner in which they

bad received him . He would do his best to carry out the duties of his office and to retain tbe confidence of the brethren of the Lodge . Bro . W . Kuhe proposed the Visitors , to whioh Bros . F . W . White , J . B . Tweed , and VV . Gill responded . Bros . W . Kuhe and H . R . Edwards acknowledged tho toast of the Past Masters , Bro . T . Garrett that of the Initiates , and Bros . D . T . Bostel and F . E . Sawyer that of the Officers of the Lodge . Tbe Tyler ' s toast brought tho

gathering to a close . Duriug the evening a pleasing programme of music , arranged by Bro . G . Cole P . P . G . O ., was admirably sustained ' jy Miss Minnio Freeman , Miss Maud Bond , Bros . H . G . Collins , E . Broadbridge , and G . Cole , the duties of accompanist being ably carried out by Bro . VV . N . Roe . Bro . F ., VV . Hollands gave an excellent recitation , aud Bro . W . Kuhe delighted the brethren with a pianoforte solo .

rpHE members entertained Bro . F . Fox to dinner at the Royal JL Exchange Hotel , Grey-street , Newcastle , on the 27 th ulc , to wish him a cordial farewell on his approaching voyage to Australia . Bro . Scott W . M . presided , and he was supported by Bros . E . Clark I . P . M ., Cammings Dir . of Cers ., A . Hepburn , Cook , Lewens S . W .,

Spittle , & c . Bro . Scott , m proposing the health of Bro . Fox , referred to tho esteem and respect in which their guest was held by the members of the Lodgo , and presented to him a Master Mason ' s jewel bearing the following inscription : —

"St . Nicholas Lodge , No . 1676 , Newcastle-on-Tyne , presented by the Officers and Bi-stbren of the Lorlsre to Bro . Francis Fox , as a mark of their esteem aud regard , 27 th February 1890 . "

Sayers , of Western-road . The W . M . Brother W . S . Isworth presided . The usual loyal toasts having been duly

honoured , the W . M . proposed tho Officers of the Grand Lodge Present and Past , to whioh Bro . Kuhe P . G . O . responded . The toaat of the R . W . Provincial Grand Master the Duke of Connaught was given by the W . M ., who also proposed the W . Dapnty Provincial Grand Master the Right Hon . Sir W . T . Marriott , Q . C , M . P ., Judge Advocate General , P . G . Steward , and the Officers of Provincial Grand

Lodge Present and Past . In responding for the latter toast Bro . C . J . Corder P . P . S . G . W . remarked that it was thirty years since he was appointed a Provincial Officer , and he supposed he should be regarded as a fossil and liable to be placed in the large case prepared for Masonio relics . However , he and the other Past Provincial Officers were at all times prepared to assist the Present Officers

whenover their services were required . Bro . J . Stude P . P . J . G . W . also acknowledged the toast . He had been a Provincial Officer , he said , for twenty years , but was not prepared to be put in the case for relios . He had spent many pleasant hours in Freemasonry and was pleased to find his old friend and neighbour ooonpying the position of W . M . He hoped that he ( Bro . Isworth ) would have health

and strength to discharge his duties with satisfaction and hononr to the Lodge . Bro . W . Balohin Prov . G . D . of C , in responding for the present Officers , said that he could not claim to havo been thirty years in office , having only been born at the time Bro . Corder was honoured with Provincial Grand Office . He and the other Provincial Officers recently appointed would , however , do their utmost to

assist in the work of the Province and in maintaiuing its high honour . The I . P . M . Bro . H . Edwards then propo « od tho Worshipful Master of tho Lodge . The toast , he said , had usually been termed tho toast of tho evening . He would , however , call it the toast of the year , and trusted that Bro . Isworth would experience health and happiness during his year of office . In happy and eulogistic terms he spoke of

Bro . Isworth's zeal , whioh he had shewn in the discharge of the duties of the various offices through which he had passed in the Lodge , and had tbe greatest confidence in predicting a very happy year under the W . M . ' s rule . Bro . Isworth , who was enthusiastically received ou rising to respond , said he failed to find words to express his gratitudo to the brethren for the cordial manner in which they

bad received him . He would do his best to carry out the duties of his office and to retain tbe confidence of the brethren of the Lodge . Bro . W . Kuhe proposed the Visitors , to whioh Bros . F . W . White , J . B . Tweed , and VV . Gill responded . Bros . W . Kuhe and H . R . Edwards acknowledged tho toast of the Past Masters , Bro . T . Garrett that of the Initiates , and Bros . D . T . Bostel and F . E . Sawyer that of the Officers of the Lodge . Tbe Tyler ' s toast brought tho

gathering to a close . Duriug the evening a pleasing programme of music , arranged by Bro . G . Cole P . P . G . O ., was admirably sustained ' jy Miss Minnio Freeman , Miss Maud Bond , Bros . H . G . Collins , E . Broadbridge , and G . Cole , the duties of accompanist being ably carried out by Bro . VV . N . Roe . Bro . F ., VV . Hollands gave an excellent recitation , aud Bro . W . Kuhe delighted the brethren with a pianoforte solo .

rpHE members entertained Bro . F . Fox to dinner at the Royal JL Exchange Hotel , Grey-street , Newcastle , on the 27 th ulc , to wish him a cordial farewell on his approaching voyage to Australia . Bro . Scott W . M . presided , and he was supported by Bros . E . Clark I . P . M ., Cammings Dir . of Cers ., A . Hepburn , Cook , Lewens S . W .,

Spittle , & c . Bro . Scott , m proposing the health of Bro . Fox , referred to tho esteem and respect in which their guest was held by the members of the Lodgo , and presented to him a Master Mason ' s jewel bearing the following inscription : —

"St . Nicholas Lodge , No . 1676 , Newcastle-on-Tyne , presented by the Officers and Bi-stbren of the Lorlsre to Bro . Francis Fox , as a mark of their esteem aud regard , 27 th February 1890 . "

Bros . Clark , Cummings , Hepburn , Lowens , Cole aud Richardson all spoke to tho toast , which was enthunias'ically honoured . Bro . F ' -x suitably responded , and the remainder of the evening was speor in a pleasant and ngreeable manner .
