Soc , Provincial Grand Mark Master , presided at tho annual communication of Mark Master Masons of this Province , at tho Freemason's Hall , Leicester on tho 23 rd ult . Tho Provincial Grand Lodgo assombled under the auspices of the Fowke Lodge No . 19 , and tho veteran Provincial Graud Master Brother Kelly was warmly received and well supported . The
Mark Lodges wero fully represented , and the reports from tho worshipfnl masters descriptive of a prosperous year , with a marked increase in members . Brother Robert Waito was unanimoualy elected Treasurer , and a cordial vote of thanks tendered for past services . rliHE half-yearly meeting was held on Wednesday , at the Assembly JL Rooms , Three Swans Hotel , Market Harborough , the Right Hon . the Earl Ferrers , Prov . Grand Master , in the chair . A very good attendance of brethren was present , amongst others being Brothers G . Toller jun ., Past G . S . B . of England , Rev . W . Langloy , P . P . S . G . W ., S . S . Partridge , P . P . S . G . W . and P . G . Sec , T . Macaulay , P . P . J . G . D ., Dr . Grant , W . M . of the Harborough Lodge , J . H . Douglass , Rev . J .
Halford , Beaumont Smith . P . S . G . W ., Rev . F . H . Richardson , Prov . G . Chaplain , Dr . Hunt , of Thnrnby , W . M . of the Albert Edward Lodgo , No . 1560 , S . Cleaver , Prov . G . The Grand Lodgo was opened at three o ' clock and the business transacted iucluded the adoption of a lengthened report presented by the Charity Committee . A vote of thanks for his services as
Steward of the Masonic Girls' School Festival , was unanimously given to Brother Partridge , and a sum of money to a brother , who , from losses and illncs , was recommended by tho Charity Committee . At tho conclusion of tho business the dinner was served under tho presidency of tho popular Prov . Grand Master . The D . P . G . M ., Sir H . St . John Halford , Bart ., was prevented being present through illness .
"Wo learn from le Monde Maronnufue , that the Lodge Les Sayes Xlleliopolis of the Orient of Bucharest , has just contributed the handsome sum of 0 , 450 francs ( £ 258 ) , one moiety for the relief oi the soldiers Avonuded duriug the Avar , and the other for the benefit of the widows and orphans of
those AVIIO have fallen victims to its ravages . It has also remitted to the Grand Orient of France 100 francs , as a subscription towards the celebration of the Centenary of Voltaire , and 150 francs as its contribution for the years 1878 , 1879 , and 1880 , to tho Masonic General Orphanage at Paris ,

It will be seen from onr advertisement columns , that in order to give every facility to Mark Masons to bo present at the Moveable Grand Lodge of Mai'k Master Masons which Avill be held at Keswick on Friday next , the 14 th inst ., the following arrangements have been mado with the
London and North Western Railway Company , by which brethreu will be conveyed from London to Keswick and back in first Class Saloon Carriages on the following terms : —for fifty and upwards , at the rate of 58 s 4 d each ; for twenty-five and under fifty , at the rate of 64 s . The train
will leave Euston Station at 10 a . m ., on Thursday tho 13 th June , and return from Keswick on Tuesday , tho 18 th J mie . Brethren Avho propose to avail themselves of these terms ,
are requested to inform the Grand Secretary at his offices , 2 Red Lion-square W . C , not later than Tuesday next , tho 11 th inst ., in order that the necessary arrangements may be made .

Hie new and commodious Head Quarters of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade , in South wart Bridge Road , Avere opened on Saturday last by Sir Jas . M'Garel Hogg , M . P ., Chairman of the Metropolitan Board of Works . Tho building , which Avas formerly knoAvn as Winchester House
forms the largest Firo Brigade Station in the Avorld . The freehold has cost £ 88 , 000 , and the establishment £ 32 , 000 , but theBoard of Works will be recouped to the extent of closo npon £ 20 , 00 . 0 . Thepremisesinclnde a spacious engine station , stables , smithy , several fine outbuildings , a courtyard , and
apartments for Captain ShaAv in the front portion of the old House . Watling Street Station , the old head quarters of the Brigade , will not be closed , and , indeed , it was said by Mr . Edwards , Chairman of the Firo Brigade of the Board of Works , that the city will bo better protected than
ever under the new arrangements . At present twentyeight married , and twenty-six single men are accommodated in the station . Both Sir J . Hogg , and Mr . Edwards bore
