Fifty-two members and visitors sat down to a re ' chercM repast , admirably served by Mr . Brown of the Cups Hotel . The usnal Masonio toasts were duly honoured , and a selection of music was given under the superintendence of W . B . Charles Osmond P . M . P . P . G . Organist .
ONE of the most agreeable of the many successful gatherings of members of this popular Lodge we have been privileged to attend was that of the meeting held on Tuesday , the 28 th ult ., on whioh occasion the Et . Hon . the Lord Mayor of London , Sir Henry Aaron Isaacs , paid fche brethren of the Lodge his promised visit . Haines , who at the installation meeting was confined to hia room by a serious illness , was congratulated by the W . M . on his recovery , and was formally invested with the collar of Senior Warden . The sum of £ 13 was voted to the E . M . I , for Girls , for a window . Ifc was announced that during the recess threo grants had been made from the Lodge Benevolent Fund . It was also officially intimated that an
appeal to the Board of Benevolence on behalf of the widow of a member who died recently , under painful circumstances , had resulted in a grant of £ 50 . Nothing further offering , tho Lodgo was closed , and the brethren sat down to " supper "; bnt a facetious friend remarked that he did not understand what the brethren of 205 meant , —to all intents and purposes he called it a " banquet , " and this
was generally conceded as tbe better definition . Bro . Emanuel tho W . M ., who is an old Past Master of the Israel , having served in thafc capacity some sixteen years back , was naturally proud of the occasion , and at seeing so many prominent Masons in attendance . The Lord Mayor , in responding to the toast of his health said , his associations with the Israel Lodge had beeu of such a character that
he had determined , in spite of any sacrifice , to pay one visit to the Lodge during his year of office . He would remind the brethren that he was initiated into Freemasonry in the Israel Lodge , and it was due to the encouragement be therein received that he was induced to take tbe great interest in the Order which subsequently led to his becoming Master of the Lodge , and Preceptor of the Israel Lodge of
Instrnction . He could but express bis admiration for the manner in which the members maintained their Benevolent Fund , and could heartily congratulate the Lodge upon its continued success . The other toasts customary on these occasions were given full honour , and some capital speeches were evoked , while the assembled
company was entertained , in fche intervals of the toasts , by Bro . F . H . Cozens , Eev . M . Haines , Humphrey Cohen ( professionally known as Mr . Harcourt West ) , Morris Abrahams , I . White , & c . Bro . Cohen is a rnp'tal elocutionist , but his talent s Were wasted in his second Selection—it was indeed sorry stuff .

After Lodge had been closed the brethren adjourned to dinner , and the remainder of a very pleasant evening was passed in perfect harmony , tbe customary toasts being duly honoured , and receiving brief bufc effective response . The W . M ., who is a vocalist of considerable merit , and much sought after in the locality of hia residence , sang two or three of his most approved songs , accompanied
by one of bis sons , who gives promise of great ability in future years . Bros . Joyce and Beste also contributed to the general enjoyment by their escallent singing ; and Brother Stevens recited one of the beautiful Masonic songs ho has , as it were , made his own , and whioh at all similar meetings aro highly appreciated . Altogether the proceedings of the evening , both in regard to work and refreshment , gave satisfaction to all who had the privilege of sharing in them .

Joyce and Beste also contributed to the general enjoyment by their escallent singing ; and Brother Stevens recited one of the beautiful Masonic songs ho has , as it were , made his own , and whioh at all similar meetings aro highly appreciated . Altogether the proceedings of the evening , both in regard to work and refreshment , gave satisfaction to all who had the privilege of sharing in them .
