ON 24 th ult . Sir Henry C . Macandrew , a Past Master of St . John ' s , No . ( 5 Kilwinning of Scotland , and Sir Hector Munro of Foulis , Bart ., the Right Worshipful Master of Finpal ' s Lodge ( 318 ) , Dingwall , were installed as Provincial Grand Masters of the respective Provinces of Inverness-shire , and Eoss and Cromarty . In both cases the offico had been in abeyance for many years , and it was only recently tbat tbe different Lodges comprised in the

provinces named took stepa to resuscitate the Order . As the Grand Master Mason of Scotland , Sir Archibald Campbell of Blythawood , Bart ., M . P ., conld only spend one evening in the north , the brethren connected with the Province of Ross and Cromarty were asked to come to Inverness , so that one installation ceremony only would be necessary , while it would take a more imposing character . The

ceremony was fixed to take place at five o clock , but for an hour previous to that time the brethren were assembling from all quarters , and , after being duly " clothed " and decorated with tho symbols of office , they wero taken in baud by Bro . F . T . C . Keeble P . M . of The Great City Lodge , 1426 , London , r . ow associated with St . John ' s , Inverness . Having been marshalled under their respective

Worshipful Masters , tho brethren , numbering 150 , marched into the Lodge Room , which wns , for the occasion , the large dining-room of the Caledonian Hote ) . The scone was a very imposing one . The " Throne " was for a time occupied by Bro . Jamea Eoss , solicitor , aa R . W . M . of tho oldest Lodge in either of the provinces concerned , and the other places of honour were allotted to officers who

represented the Lodges next in order of aeuiotity , us follows : —Chaplain , Rev . W . Thomson B . D ., No . 43 , Fort William j Bro . D . Fraser , St . who at onco ascended the throne , and proceeded to instal Sir Henry Macandrew and Sir Hector Monro to the offices to which their respective provinces bael appointed them . The ceremony was an interesting and impressive one , aud will long be remembered by all those who were present .
