Murray , Grand Treasnrer of England , for the hononr he has given to the members in viaiting them , " which was carried unanimously , and to which Bro . Murray made a suitable reply .

AN emergency meeting of this Lodge was held at the Maaonio Rooma , Belvedere , on the 27 th ult ., when the accounts of the past year were considered and approved , aud other formal business transacted , to clear the way for the installation meeting on Jbe 18 th inst ., at whioh the W . M . elect , Bro . Thos . Heaps , will be
installed in the chair of the Lodge . Brother Heapa haa proved an enthusiastic and able Secretary for many yeara , and it has been almost unwillingly he has . y ielded to the unanimous wiah of his brethren and served a Wardenahip to qualify himaelf for tho highest position . With so popular a head thia Lodge should prosper in its new year .

The Principals' chairs were occupied by Compa . B . Chennell P . Z ., PryorH , and Purohas J ., whilst the work of the Principal Sojourner was ably performed by Comp . Spalding . Comp . Papworth Z . was unable to be preaent .

KEYSTONE LODGE , No . 3 . ON the 28 fch ult ., the annual meeting for the installation of a Worshipful Maater , waa held at the Ship and Turtle , Leadenhall Street . Bro . W . Shakespeare AVebster Past Master and Treasurer presided , in the absence of Bro . J . Llewellyn Jones AVorshipful Master , who attended , however , at a later period . The only work to be performed was the installation of the new AVorshipful Maater , and the appointment and investiture of the Officers for the
year . Brother W . S . AVebster P . M . installed Brother Frederick A . Jewson as Worshipful Master , a dispensation having been obtained from the Grand Mark Master , as Bro . Jewson had nofc yefc become an installed Maater of a Craft Lodge . The ceremony was , therefore , curtailed . After the ceremony had been performed , the following brethren wore invested as Officers for the year : —Brothers James

Monckton Grand Senior Warden responded to the toaat of the Grand Officers , and said it was a somewhat notable occasion , because it waa the first time he had attended a Mark Lodge since he waa appointed Grand Senior Warden . He waa particularly pleased to be preaent , because a colleague of himaelf in tbe Corporation was installed in the Master ' s chair . He had watched with cona > derable internet the
career of Bro . Jewaon , nut only in Masonry , but outside it . For himself , he waa a thorough believer in Freemasonry , for all the good it did . If there waa anything bad in it , it was only in the mind * of the people who thought it . Those who worked in the Craft , the Mark , and the Arch could speak , as he could speak , as a very old Mason , of the good tbat Masonry did . He was old enough to make
these remarka without being considered flippant ; and he conld say emphatically thafc he was at all timea a thorough believer in Masonry in all its branches and degrees . Brotherly love , relief , and truth , were the great landmarks of the Order—charity to others who needed it . Bro . Llewellyn Jonea I . P . M . next proposed the health of the Worshipful Master . Bro . Jewaon Worahipfnl Master responded ,
and said he waa very much impressed that night with the beautiful ceremony by which he waa installed aa Master of the Keyatone Mark Lodge . He would not have undertaken the office of Master of thia Lodge if he had not felt he had ao many 1 ' rieuds around him to support bim dnring hia year . It brought him back to the year 1878 , when , in the Alliance Lodge , he was initiated by Sir John Monckton .
Sir John did not now forsake him ; Sir John Monckton was his chief in his daily work , and as a brother Mason he came to see him installed aa Master of thia Mark Lodge . He waa very proud that he bad snch a chief , and also that so many brethren were present to witness hia installation . He could assure the brethren that he wonld not forget the high honour which had been conferred upon bim on
28 th June 1892 . Bro . Webster Past Master and Treaaurer propoaed the health of the Visitors , and Broa . Bateman and Thomas H . Gardiner replied . Other toasts succeeded , including that of tbe Masonic Press , acknowledged by Bro . Henry Massey . The brethren then adjourned to a charming concert , in whioh the executants
