Pike ( a member of Lodge 1900 ) to the second degree . Hearty good wishes were given by the numerous Visitors , and then Lodge was closed , until the fourth Thursday in February . The brethren , aixty-two in number , sat down
to a very sumptuous and recherche banquet , provided by Bro . isicols and superintended by Bro . Eugene De la Coste . The repast gave unqualified satisfaction . Grace having been sung , the W . M . said , if he could not give them a flow of wit and long speeches , he would give them something to compensate for it in the shape of some music . He hoped this would be to their satisfaction He then proposed the
toast of the Queen and the Craft , and Bro . H . Tinney delighted the brethren with a solo on the piano—Se J'Etais Roi . The W . M . then proposed the health of the Most Worshipful the Grand Master his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales . This was followed by the toasts of the Pro Grand Master the Earl of Carnarvon , tha Right Worshipful the Earl of Lathom , and the rest of the Grand
Officers . Bro . Wangh said it was with great pleasure he now took tho gavel , as I . P . M ., to propose the health of the Worshipful Master . They all appreciated Bro . Hammond , so he need not expatiate on hia excellent qualifications . They had seen his working , and approved his able presidency j he hoped they wonld drink the toast with thafc amount of enthusiasm it so well deserved . Bro . Hammond was one
worthy of their esteem . Bro . Martin here sang " My sweetheart when : i boy . " The Worshipful Master , in reply , said he was gratified to hear such pleasant remarks . He had passed the chair in another Lodge , aud his energies and best services would be at their command in every respect . He might urge it was with a great amount of gratification he had arrived at his present proud position . The next
toast was a very important one—the Initiates ; no Lodge can do without Initiates , and the latter would find , that iu joining the Order they had taken a step they would never regret . Ho felfc the members they had introduced thafc nig ht would be a credit to the Craft . The W . M . here , by desire , gave the E . A . song . Bro . Wilson , in replying , thanked Bros . Cox and Holmes for his introduction into the

The toast of the Visitors was next brought under notice ; the members were all pleased to see them . Personally he ( the W . M . ) mnsfc say he thanked the members of the Trinity College Lodge for being present ; their W . M . ( Bro . Hunt ) especially ; also Bro . Tinney , and
the musical brethren who had contributed to the harmony . They also had Bro . Mason , who was connected with one of the Masonio Charities . He would have given him a separate toast , only time was on the wing . Bro . Stark here delighted the brethren with a pianoforte solo . Bro . Festa W . M . 1900 responded ; he thanked the Wor . shipful Master , now the I . P . M ., for having so excellently passed Bro .
Pike , who was a member of his ( Bro . Festa's ) Lodge . Bro . Bolivia Hunt followed ; as also did Bros . Madden , Carrington , and Mason , the latter speaking at somn length on the Institutions . Bro . H . M . Levy P . M . 188 also added a few words . In speaking of the P . M . 's , the W . M . said they were getting numerous . Their working was well known , and it was an especial pleasare to see how ably the I . P . M .
had performed the installation ceremony ; he had much gratification in placing on his breast the handsome jewel voted by the brethren of the Lodge for the manner he had performed the duties during his year of office . He would call on Bro . Waugh to respond to the toast . Bro . Wangh said it was with no feeling of diffidence he had to thank them ; they had responded to his appeal to assist him , and this had
enabled him to carry out the duties of his office ; it was not for the intrinsic value of the jewel he prized it ; the way it was presented would ever be appreciated by him . Bro . Swallow followed ; this Lodge was seven years old ; he , when W . M ., had introduced twentyone gentlemen into the Order . The present W . M . was one of his children ; ho was prond of the Lodge , and of their W . M . Bro . White
said he took into consideration tho lateness of the hour ; however , ho esteemed it a very high hononr to be present ; it was especially gratifying to note the able manner in which the W . M . had carried out the dnties of the chair . In speaking of the Treasurer and Secretary , the W . M . said thoy were brethren who may ho taken as patterns by any Lodge .
