RESUSCITATION OF THE HAMMERSMITH LODGE OF INSTRUCTION , No . 2090 . FOR some years the above Lodge of Instruction met at the Board Room of the Local Baths and Wash-Houses , the Brethren having always had the strongest objection to holding their meetings on licensed premises , but from some unknown cause the numbers attending became so limited that it

was found to be useless continuing the meetings , and as a consequence , since 1895 , the Lodge of Instruction has ceased to assemble . Some few months ago , however , some of the hard working members of the Mother Lodge determined to do their best to resuscitate the fallen fortunes of this Lodge of Instruction , bufc found ifc rather a difficult task to get a meeting place in an unlicensed building . That difficulty has now been overcome , and on

Wednesday , 22 nd ult ., we wended our way to Wycombe House , 263 Hammersmith Road , W . ( almost adjoining the District Railway Station ) , and on gaining admission found ourselves in one of the most comfortable and complete assembly Rooms- in the Metropolis . Handsomely furnished and appointed , electric light being plentifully employed , it seemed the very place for Brethren in the neighbourhood to meet at .

M . next rehearsed the initiation ceremony , Bro . Meek acting as candidate . Three members were elected , and on being informed of the fact returned thanks in suitable terms .

The Treasurer read a statement showing that the Lodge of Instruction , after paying all debts for new furniture , working tools , printing , & c , had a balance in hand after the short period of six months that had elapsed since its reconstruction . A hearty vote of thanks was carried , and ordered to be entered on the

minutes , to Bro . J . H . Gumming P . M ., for attending on behalf of the FREEMASON ' S CHRONICLE . The W . M . was complimented on the way in which he had carried out his duties , and we may add that it has seldom been our good fortune to find on visiting a Lodge of Instruction every Officer present almost letter-perfect .

The S . W . was elected to the post of W . M . for the next meeting . ON Wednesday , 29 th ult ., Bros . W . Scolding W . M ., Beale S . W ., J . Cave J . W ., Henry Warren Treas ., T . G .
