Entertainment Notes.
Is an average of forty new members per Lodge per year too many ? We think so , most decidedly , and we very much fear that any Province making so many Freemasons can hardly be said to be working in the best interests of the Craft ; but we view things from an English Brother ' s point of
view . In Scotland matters are different , and consequently our worthy contemporary " The Mallet , " in " Glasgow Evening News , " is able to write : " The prosperity which has attended Freemasonry under the Scottish Constitution during the past year has been shared in a proportionally
large extent by the Lodges in the Glasgow Province . From a calculation made by Bro . G . C . H . M'Naught Prov . Grand Secretary the initiates in the thirty-seven Lodges will total
close on 1 , 500 for the year . " Our Brethren across the border are proud of this ; we on this side should view such a return with a certain amount of alarm .
MR . LOUIS ALBERV BACK , eldest son of Bro . Usher Back P . M . 211 , who was for many . years with Mr . Basil Tree at the St . James' Hall , has now started an Agency and Theatre Ticket Office of his own , at 200 Piccadilly , W . He is issuing a very handy weekly Theatre and Concert List which may be obtained on application .
