AESCULAPIUS LODGE , No . 2410 . AN ordinary meeting was held at the Cafe Royal , Eegent Street , on the 14 th ult ., the W . M ., F . Ernest Pocock , M . D ., presiding . James Sartin , M . R . C . S ., and H . J . Sharpe , M . R . G . S ., were elected Joining Members . H . W . Nix , B . A ., M . B ., B . C . Camb .
M . R . C . S . Eng ., and J . R . Bosworth , M . E . C . S . Eng ., L . R . C . P . Edin ., were admitted into Freemasonry . Ten guineas was voted to the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys . The W . M . announced that Grand Chapter had granted the petition for a
Chapter in connection with the iEsculapius Lodge , to be called the " iEsculapius Chapter , " which will be consecrated at an early date . The members , together with a number of visitors , afterwards dined together and spent a very enjoyable social evening . ^ o o o

The Lodge was opened and minutes confirmed . Bro . Churcher having answered the questions was entrusted . The Lodge was then opened in 2 nd and 3 rd degrees and resumed to the 2 nd . Brother Churcher was passed . Lodge was then resumed to 1 st degree , and two gentlemen were initiated into the Order .
Bro . Col . 1 . W . Beningfield W . M . installed Bro . Nicholls into the Master's chair in a most impressive and exemplary manner , after which the new Master invested his Officers with a few well
chosen congratulatory remarks . After hearty good wishes the Lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banquet which was under the personal superintendence of Bro . A . Clemow and gave the greatest satisfaction . The toast of the Queen , and Prince of Wales M . W . G . M ., were heartily given and received , as was that of the Grand Officers ,
which was responded to by Bro . Clay Sudlow in his usual clear and distinct manner . He expressed the great pleasure he felt in visiting the Lodge and seeing the rapid progress it had made ; he said it was always a pleasure to the Grand Officers to visit the Lodges , as their reception was most cordial , and their endeavours to discharge their duties were always appreciated by the brethren .
The toast of the W . M . Bro . Nicholls was received with great enthusiasm . Bro . Col . I . W . Beningfield the I . P . M . in proposing the toast , said there could not possibly be a better W . M . than Bro . Nicholls , who was a perfect Master of the work , always constant in
his attendance , courteous and genial in his manner to all , and ever striving to promote the interest of the Lodge . He was a P . M . of the Craft , Arch and Mark degrees , a Provincial Grand Officer of very high rank , and a Brother widely known , and he felt confident very highly appreciated .
The W . M . briefly thanked the I . P . M . and the Brethren for their kind reception . The toast of the I . P . M . and Installing Past Master followed . Bro . Col . Beningfield expressed his thanks to the Brethren for the kindness of feeling towards him , and especially for the beautiful
P . M . ' s jewel they had presented him with . He could assure them that he felt very very proud of being their first Master . He had alwajs tried to do his best , and it had always given him great pleasure to witness the harmony and good feeling that had existed in the " Pickwick Lodge , " which had been the means of making the Lodge a great success .
The Visitors toast was next given , and responded to by a Brother from " The Isle of Green " and Bro . Griffiths , who congratulated the Lodge upon the splendid work they were doing , and the very hearty reception that the visitors had received . The toast of the Officers and that of the Tyler brought a very successful gathering to a happy conclusion . o o o
VICTORIA PARK LODGE OF INSTRUCTION , No . 1816 . THE annual supper was held at the George Hotel , Stratford , on the 15 th ult . Bro . D . Meiklereid W . M . in the chair . After paying due honour to the repast , which was served in a most satisfactory manner by Bro . F . C . D . Fenn , the worthy host , the ¦ Lioyal toasts were proposed .

— : o : — ROYAL YORK LODGE , No . 315 . AT the annual meeting held at the Royal Pavilion , Brighton , on the 6 th inst ., Bro . Harry Kent was re-installed W . M . for the ensuing year , the brethren having honoured him by re-electing him to that important office . The W . M . appointed his Officers , those present being invested . The Brethren afterwards sat down to a banquet . o o o
ST . JOHN'S LODGE , No . 348 . THE annual meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , Institute Street , Bolton , on the 22 nd ult ., the gathering being attended by about 60 brethren , representing almost all sections of the Bolton district . Bro . Heyes was installed Worshipful Master for the ensuing twelve months , in succession to Bro . 0 . Holgate . Other Masonic business followed , and during the evening a substantial amount was realised for charitable purposes .
o o o PERSEVERANCE LODGE , No . 371 . 1 " 1 HE brethren of this Lodge assembled in the Freemason ' s Hall , . Maryport , on the 22 nd ult ., to meet I . P . M . Bro . Annison P . G . A . Dir . of Cers ., who is leaving the town . At the last regular meeting it was decided that he was worthy of some mark of
appreciation on the part of the brethren , and a committee was appointed to conduct the matter . This Committee decided that a social gathering should be held , at which Brother Annison should be presented with a Past Master's jewel . In proposing Brother Annison ' s health , the Chairman , Bro . J . Gardner P . M . P . P . G . R .
said it needed no words on his part to help them to recognise the great interest which Bro . Annison took in Freemasonry ; and they knew what progress the Lodge had made since he joined , it . When it became known that he was about to remove from the town , the brethren , to show the sincerity of their appreciation , and in
recognition of bis services to Craft Masonry in particular , decided to present , and cheerfully subscribed for , a Past Master ' s Jewel , which they had asked him , as the oldest P . M . there , to present . He might say they one and all heartily hoped that he would be spared for many years to aid and encourage F reemasonry . The
Chairman then proposed the health of Brother Nicholson , the oldest Mason of 371 , whom the brethren were sorry not to have with them . The toast was also drunk with musical honours . Brother Carey proposed a vote of thanks to the Chairman , which
was seconded by Brother Mitchell , and heartily awarded . The Chairman suitably replied . A similar compliment was paid the Vice-Chairman , on the motion of Brother Waite , seconded by Brother Leach .
o o o YARBOROUGH LODGE , No . 551 . THE installation of Bro . W . Cole Norman took place at the Masonic Hall , Ventnor , on the 20 th ult ., when the ceremony was most impressively performed by the outgoing W . M . Bro . F . H .
Sheppard , in the presence of about 40 members of this and other Lodges . Subsequently the W . M ., his Officers , and the members paitook of a banquet at the Eoyal Hotel , which was catered for in his usual high class style by Bro . Lieut .-Col . Coyle , the managing director of the Hotel . o o o
ST . DAVID'S LODGE , No . 679 . THE anniversary of this Lodge was celebrated at the Masonic Hall , Aberdare , on the 1 st inst . There was an unusally large attendance of Brethren , including visitors . The installation of the W . M . for the forthcoming year was conducted by Bro . T . Phillips . Bro . Phillips was then presented , on behalf of the Lodge , with a
handsome oil-painting of himself , in Masonic regalia , executed hy Bro . G . F . Haines , of Merthyr . Bro . Phillips , in a brief speech , tendered his thanks to the brethren , and presented the picture to the Lodge , to be preserved in the Lodge Boom .
After the ceremony a sumptuous dinner was partaken of at the Boot Hotel , the host , Bro . D . Hughes , having provided an excellent spread for the occasion . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured . o o o
