ST . OSYTH'S PRIORY LODGE , No . 2063 . THE Installation meeting was held under successful and happy circumstances on Friday , 18 th ult ., at the Town Hall Buildings , Claoton-on-Sea . For some time past it had been evident that the Brethren intended to give a special significance to the event , and to offer Bro . Robert Stebbings P . Bl . of the Guelph Lodge a very cordial and fraternal welcome to the high office of Worshipful Master of the St . Osyth ' s Priory , to which he
had by merit of good working attained . The result justified anticipations , says the " Clerkenwell Chronicle , " as although there were some inevitable absences , the circle of Brethren was one that must have given to the Master very kindly feelings of satisfaction , rekindled by the courtesy of allowing him the ceremonials in the entry of Bro . H . A . Atkinson , on grounds of personal friendship , and the congratulations of Grand Lodge , and of Provincial Grand Lodge .
The minutes having been confirmed , the report of the audit was adopted . The Master then vacated the chair in favour of Bro . R . Stebbings W . M .-elect , and Mr . Henry Alexander Atkinson , Solicitor , of Great Percy Street , Clerkenwell , was presented , and duly initiated . The Master continuing the Lodge , Bros , the Rev . G . B . Fenwick , M . A ., 1557 , and H . E . Sutton 1799 were admitted as joining members .
The W . M .-elect having vacated m favour of Bro . J . Boulton Gd . P . Eng . the principal offices were filled by Bros . J . P . Allen as S . W ., and W . M . Foxcroft as J . W ., the office of D . C . being courteously accepted by Bro . James Terry , and carried through with the Masonic perfection with which his name is so well and deservedly associated .

With happiness of phrase and tendering the thanks of the Lodge for good services well rendered , the W . M . presented I . P . M . Bro . A . Swann with a Past Master ' s jewel , for which Brother Swann returned kindly acknowledgments . The W . M . Bro . Stebbings was chosen to represent the St . Osyth ' s Lodge on the Essex Provincial Charity Committee .
The addresses were effectively given , and at the close the W . M ., with full Lodge approval , tendered hearty thanks to Bro . J . Boulton for valued services as I . M ., and to Bro . James Terry for his as D . C . Both votes having been acknowledged , the Lodge was closed in peace , with harmony . The banquet was one worthy of the occasion , and was well served at the Royal Hotel , the Master presiding with the full support of the Officers and Brethren .
The Master gave the leading toasts , and Bro . James Terry , in an earnestly eloquent speech , pleaded well for the Masonic Charities , and enjoined a reverential observance of all the Masonic Ritual . The toasts of the W . M . and the I . P . M . having been well proposed and responded to , Bro . H . A . Atkinson , in a neatly effective speech of acknowledgment , replied to the welcoming address of the Master to the Initiate . Other propositions followed , and concluded a good list .
There were many letters and telegrams of congratulation from Brothers unable to attend , among them being Bro . Railing Prov . G . Sec , and Bro . Charles Weeden P . M . 813 . There was an excellent musical programme under the direction of Bro . Noble , and in this Miss Theresa Kellaway was listed for " Angus Macdonald " and "The Workaday World . " Bro . Harry Bluff rendered humourous songs , and other contributions came from Bros . Trefelyn David , J . W . Blartin , W . Goring , 0 . A . Brasted , Gardiner , J . W . Franks , and Mr . H . J . Baynton .
In the course of the banquet following the installation , Bro . Schofield , who is coxswain of the Masonic lifeboat " Albert Edward " stationed here , was called away to duty , and with his colleagues put out in a rough sea to a wreck on the Gunfleet Sands—a rapid change from comfort to danger , quite unknown to Masons inland .
JOSIAH WEDGWOOD LODGE , No . 2214 . ON the 24 th ult ., at the Masonic Hall , Cheapside , Hanley , Bro . Samuel Fenton was installed Worshipful Master by Bro . G . L . Birch , and subsequently appointed the Officers for the year . In the evening dinner was held at fche Town Hall .
MINNEHAHA MINSTREL LODGE , No . 2363 . THE regular meeting was held at the Victoria Hotel , Manchester , on Monday , 28 th ult ., Bro . Henry Nail P . M . P . P . G . Treas . ( W . L . ) W . M . The minutes of the previous regular meeting having been confirmed , and one of the Antient Charges read , Bros . Robt . Beilby Estil jun ., and William Henry Purdy were raised to the sublime degree of Bl . BI ., the former by Bro Sath Wrigley P . M . P . G . J . D . D . C , and the latter by the Worshipful Master , who also presented and explained the Working Tools to the candidates .
An election of Officers then took place , with the result that Bro . Fred Hilton P . M . P . P . G . D . C . S . W ., was unanimously chosen as W . M . for the ensuing financial year , and he will be installed upon the next day of meeting . Bro . Jos . Hilton , father of the W . M .-elect , was unanimously selected to again fill the position of Treasurer .
Other business having been transacted the Brethren adjourned to the festive board , a pleasant evening being spent . Amongst other toasts that of the W . M . was submitted by Bro . W . A . Brabner P . M ., who referred to Bio . Nail ' s untiring work in connection with the Lodge , and reverted , by the wayj to the honourable position which he had gained in a neighbouring Province . This is the only Instruction Lodge meeting in the city so early as 5 -30 p . m ., and has hitherto proved most convenient for city Masons , who may always rely on a hearty welcome and some really good work .
