Belcher . The customary Loyal and Mark Masonio toasts were duly honoured , Bros . A . F . Lamette and H . W . G . Abell responding on behalf of the Officers of Graud Lodge Present and Past . Bro . E . Histed , in
proposing the Provinoial Grand MaBter H . R . H . the Dnke of Connanght , alluded to the great strides Mark Masonry bad made in the Province nnder H . R . H . the Duko of Connanght . Brother J . Eberall gave tbe Deputy Provinoial Grand Master the Rev . E . R . Currie P . G . Chaplain , and the Officers of Provinoial Grand Lodge Present and Past , to whioh Bros . J . Adames and J . Farnoombe replied . Brother Buckwell ,
in proposing the Worshipful Master , said Bro . J . Belcher was always popular in Brighton , and would , no doubt , prove as popular a Worshipfnl Master as any who preceded him . Referring to Brother Belcher ' s excellent work in the Lodge that afternoon , he said the Adur Lodge , at Enfield , in whioh he had served his apprenticeship as their Worshipfnl Master , were proud of him , for he had oarried ont
his duties with honour to tho Lodgo and with credit to himself . His hospitality was proverbial , and if he oarried ont his dnties in the Royal Snssex Lodge as ably as he did at Enfield , the brethren , he was sure , would say they never had a better Master . Bro . Beloher , on rising to respond , met with a very hearty reception . Thanking the brethren for their kindness , he said he was but a humble member of
the Craft , though now , for the second time , be occupied the ohair in the Mark degree . Bro . Buckwell had spoken tcj highly of him . He had endeavoured to do his duty in the Adnr Li lge , and he would do his best to maintain the hononr of the Royal Sussex Lodge , one of the oldest in the Province . Officers , the former being acknowledged by Bro . Cramer , and latter by Bro . Histed . The Tyler's toast completed the list . Dnring the evening songs were rendered by Bros . Clements , Willard , Cramer , Welling , Cole , Eberall , and Tebbs ; Bro . Roe Prov . G . Organist being an excellent aocompanist . Bro . Thilthorpe also contributed a recitation .

" f ~ \ UR BOYS " are certainly to be oongratnlated on the sncoess yj achieved by them on the occasion of thoir dance , whioh was held at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , E . C , on Monday , the 6 th instant , when between 60 aud 70 of the friends of the Association assembled . That the c impany enjoyed themselves thoroughly there can be no donbt , for from first to last every available couple were
enjoined to participate in the " mazy danoe . This entailed hard work on tbe part of the two hon . secretaries of the Association , MessrB . W . J . Paoker and E . A . B . Gough , but they must have beeu amply repaid for their trouble , when they discovered the scarcity of
" wallflowere . " A short interval was given midway between the programme , when light refreshments were served , tbe company doing ample jnstioe to tbe same , after whioh danoing was once more started and keeped up with such energy that " enoores" and 1 extras " had to be resorted to . It was close on the hour of
midnight when the strains of the band were heard for the last time , and the oompany shortly afterwards separated , one and all agreeing that the " Old Masonians " had given tbem a rare treat . Auocber dance will be given at the Anderton's Hotel , on Monday , the 6 th March , when we hope even a larger gathering will be the result .
Bro . James Stevens has lately prepared a series of diagrams illustrative of the symbolical connection of the whole system of speculative Freemasonry throngh Craft and Royal Arch degrees . Some of these he introduced
into his instructive lecture at the Stour Lodge , No . 2305 , at Ashford , on the 2 nd inst ., and we are informed that the instruction thereby afforded has given great satisfaction to the brethren who heard him ou that occasion .

Stephen ' s Church , Everton Boad , Manchester , and although his rendition of this master *
piece of Charles Dickens is always good , yet on this occasion he excelled himself by an exhibition of pathos and humour wbioh kept his audience entranced for upwards of two hours , being varied only by repeated and prolonged applause .
