Reports Of Meetings.

Lodge was resumed to the first degree . The W . M . proposed Mr . E . Laurie for initiation . Several communications regretting inability to be present were read . Hearty good wishes were accorded , the Lodge was closed , and the Brethren , mostly in the uniform of the Regiment , adjourned to the mess room for dinner .

Afterwards the usual Loyal and other toasts were honoured . The I . P . M . Bro . Grimes , in proposing the toast of the W . M ., eulogised his many good qualities both as a Mason , soldier , and man . The toast was received with considerable enthusiasm , as was Brother Mogford , who , in reply , said he should but briefly acknowledge the kind words

spoken of him , after the great exertions of the Eastor manoeuvres , which were not conducive to long speeches , but , notwithstanding , his heart and soul were with the Lodge and Regiment . Next year would be its centenary . He was pleased that his efforts had met with their approval , and that he should leave office retaining their esteem .

The visitors toast was responded to by Brother Dehane , who expressed thanks for the genial hospitality extended , and commented favourably on the work that he had witnessed . He congratulated the W . M . and Lodge on the way the Officers performed their duties . Bro . Heath said it gave him double pleasure to respond as an old friend of Bro . Mogford the W . M ., and as mixing with the Brethren of the Lodge in which he had so many friends . He had always heard it was a working

Lodge , as well as a punctual one , which was fully borne out by what he had witnessed that evening ; he could speak with some little experience , being a P . M . of the Earl of Carnarvon Lodge . Such work did good to the Craft , and to those who witnessed it , and set an example to the Brethren coming on in office . He regretted that owing to an important engagement at which H . R . H . the Grand Master was present , he was unable to attend the installation of his old friend .

The toast of the Past Masters Bros . Hale and Grimes was given , and both responded . The Officers was responded to by Bros . Crow Sec . and Barter . The Tyler ' s toast concluded the evening .
