part of the writer if ho did not acknowledge his indebtedness to Mr . Edward Hine , and some of his worthy disciples , who have , by the light of the Identity , unlocked the Book of tho Prophets and broken the seal that has so long bound the prophetic scroll , giving to the inspired volume a richness and a
fulness of meaning that it did not previously possess . The spiritualising mode that many have adopted in trying to unfold the interpretation of the prophetic record has only increased the difficulty , and made the enigmatical still more obscure .
Claiming , therefore , the Great Pyramid to be the " supernaturally " constructed building that has fixed many of the dates of events in Biblical history , as well as its establishing for the most advanced science those mathematical indications that have outreached the grasp of scientists in the past ( as we have already named ) , let us now proceed to investigate the
prophetic truths it unfolds . In the first place , let us remind the reader that the period marked by the Great Pyramid , as the date of its erection , is the point which we must recognise the commencement of its prophetic indications ; for although 4 , 066 years of that prophetic pointing has now become a matter of history , yet we must bear in mind the fact that , at the time of its erection
it was purely prophetic . Having treated upon the past of the prophetic pointing of the building , which is now become , by course of time , historical , we shall only give a cursory glance at those events , taking for granted that their fulfilment is proof positive that the prophetic future is fully established Beginning with the Messianic lines in the entrance passage which give the
date of erection , and also the birth of Abram , let us hasten forward to the point that gives the date for the birth of Moses , and the space of inter-section with the ascending passage that marks the period in his life when he " refused to be called the son of Pharaoh ' s daughter . " We then foil ow the children of Israel in their journeyings from Egypt , and , by the floor-line
marks , we leave for the chronologists the task of gathering up the intricate threads of history which go to complete the Biblical recorded events that are prophetically given in-them . Having , then , arrived at the termination of the ascending passage , we come full upon the date of our Saviour ' s birth . This mo st important event is symbolised by the opening out of the Grand Gallery ,
and is prophetically indicated by details that harmonise with that glorious dispensation . He came to inaugurate . The foreshadowing of an event of such vital importance to the world was not to be confined to the record of His birth only ; but it also instanced the date of His death and burial as symbolised by the aperture in the ground , which leads to the subterranean
chamber , the centre of that opening being 33-6 inches from the point that records His nativity , providing thereby an unmistakable " witnessing " power for the work of human redemption . Believing that this Grand Gallery was intended to set forth the Christian dispensation , there is no part of it which is not of the deepest interest , especially as we are led to believe that we may
before long look for its termination . The burden of our case should be to ascertain how each part of the Gallery became a witness for Christ . It has been thought that the 36 roof stones foretell the months of our Saviour ' s ministry ; while another diligent student regards it as representing the number of millions that will constitute the population of the British Isles at the period regarded by some as the closing of this dispensation .
The cubical capacity of the grand gallery certainly gives thirty-six million inches , and there is little doubt but that figure will represent the population of these isles at the termination of the grand gallery ; but we do
not see any reason why both of the foregoing deductions should not be accepted , seeing that each may have been predicted by the severally named facts of the thirty-six roof stones , and the thirty-six million of inches of cubical capacity .
Standing upon the great step of the Grand Gallery , let us for a moment look up to the top of the south-end corner , where we shall find a square aperture 28 inches by 28 inches . Its meaning is variously interpreted . We cannot accept the theory of its typifying the ascension of our Lord , neither can we adopt the idea of its setting forth the second coming of the Messiah ,
when we shall be caught up to meet Him in the air . If the open space to which this aperture leads was so masonified as to impress the mind that it was a symbolic region for the chosen people , then we might accept the theory . But it is not so ; there is no evident design in that open space , no symmetrical proportions , no exquisite stone-squariDg ; it merely forms what
we generally find between the ceiling of a room and a higher storey—a space void of shape and beauty , and which has no definite pointing , or even any point of outlet . It is regarded by Dr . C . Piazzi Smyth as a place better fitted
for " winged and flying , rather than walking beings , and leading to a sort of retreat , more than apartment for earthly life . " Be this as it may , one fact is already patent , viz ., the impending wall at the roof ( which is regarded as fixed by the year ] 878 ) is now passed , and therefore we are beyond its limit .
Having very hastily glanced at the prophetic past of the building , which has now become historical , let us very carefully look to the prophetical features of the immediate future . Meditating , as we stand upon the great step , and recognising that its elevated horizontal platform-like connection is to be the forerunner of the most contracted and difficult portion of the
passages , let us inquire how it may terminate according to the teaching of the closing dispensation , if such should be its pointing . The past few years have certainly been pregnant with very remarkable events , as intimated in our previous re marks ; so that , if the present and succeeding years are to be marked by equally striking events , we see substantial reasons for considering
them as fitting harbingers to those terrible years that shall characterise the coming trouble , to which we think the prophetic finger of the Great Pyramid distinctly points . We know it is said , and truly so , that the ushering in of the Christian dispensation was only known to the few , and that the rest of the world knew nothing of the grand and mighty power that

was going to shake every state and kingdom in the world . The question , therefore , comes , Will the close of the" dispensation be characterised by corresponding circumstances ? We trow not . Nevertheless , we are ready to admit that in all tho Divine dispensations there is not that suddenness that distinguishes our finite actions . To the comparatively few we believe the
awful transition will be revealed . In the gathering clouds of Divine wrath , which may even now be traced in the vast military preparations of the continent , we think we can discern the coming storm which has been painted by the prophets , and confirmed by the assurance of our Saviour , but which was first delineated by the inspired architect of this building , in the
contracted passage that connects the Grand Gallery with the ante-chamber . The impending wall certainly marks the gradual change that closes the dispensation ( if such be its true indication ) , and the four years is the space given for its final termination ; so that , upon this hypothesis , viz ., the correct measurement of the Grand Gallery , we now stand midway in that
period ; after which we shall have to crouch into the narrowest passage of the building , which is only forty-four inches in vertical height , and therefore is the most excruciating portion of the whole structure . Is this Daniel ' s " time of trouble , such as never was since there was a nation , " corresponding with our Lord's declaration , that at that time there " shall be great
tribulation , such as was not since the beginning of the world , " and confirmed by the Apocalyptic statement , that there shall be " a great earthquake , such as was not since men were upon the earth , so mighty an earthquake , and so great ? " If so , then the duration of that awful period is indicated by fiftytwo inches—a terrible time for those who shall be subjected to these fiery
trials . But to whom do they apply—the enemies of the Lord , or the whole world in general , including God's Chosen People ? Surely this prediction is directed against those nations only who have trodden under foot God's law and His people ? The exemption of the Chosen People , who , having been purged from idolatry , and are in heart prepared to worship the true and
living God—we believe for them it will be a time of sorrow , m which they shall remember their sins , and undergo a cleansing process , according to the prophet Ezekiel , who gives the Divine purposes of that time , and infoims us that Jehovah has said that " then will I sprinkle clean water upon you , and ye shall he clean ; from all your filthiness and from all your idols will I
cleanse you . " As in the days before the Flood , Noah entered into the ark he had prepared , so we opine that Israel will enter into her chambers , and shut her doors about her , unfii the fierceness of Divine wrath is passed . Some have foolishly regarded this awful period as " the end of the world , ' while others have as foolishly stated it to be the harbinger of the millennium .
It is neither ; it is " the time of the end , " in which Divine mercy and justice will punish the wicked , and when He shall illuminate the Gentile nations with the grace that has been so gloriously bestowed upon His people , Israel . Then shall Ten-Tnbed Israel ( the British ) be united with Judah ,
and they shall become " one stick ' in the hand of Jehovah , who shall use the united tribes as a ' ¦ measuring line , " or rod , with which He shall rule , measure , or gauge the nations of the world , in order that they may know Him , and keep His statutes , and render to Him the homage of an undivided heart . Then will come the time of "Jacob's rest . "
The preceding interpretation of the coming trouble we know is not in harmony with the teaching of some , who would have us believe that war is about to cease ; that universal peace is going to prove the genuineness of their peculiar creed . Much as we may desire peace , and disparage war , we believe the true teaching of inspired prophecy , with regard to the immediate
future , leaves us not one single ray of hope that Peace will terminate the present dispensation . Although " 'tis a consummation devoutly to be wished , " it is not likely to be our portion for some time to come . The increasing millions of armed men on the continent , who are now eagerly providing themselves with the most deadly instruments , for the work of
human destruction in the ensuing war , proclaim in most unmistakable terms that the future has not been correctly understood by the hierophants of the Peace Society ! Regarding the pessimist with disfavour , we , however , fail to recognise in the closing of this dispensation ( whenever that shall transpire ) any other than a time of almost universal woe . We have followed the
prophetic , or time-recording passages up to the ante-chamber , giving their several dates , and have now come to this chamber , so replete with interest in the various branches of ethical and cosmic truth . The only time-recording passage that we have not reached is the one that connects the ante-chamber with the king ' s chamber : this last-named chamber is four cubits in length .
Its confined area implies that , in passing into the king ' s chamber , the head and knee must bend with submission , while " approaching with reverential awe " that magnificent apartment that contains so much that elucidates the ID ten ticn of the Inspired Architect . Having dwelt at length upon the teaching of the preceding passage , we will not weary you with the important
dates of the remote future ; but , in closing this subject , ask if the timerecorded features of this marvellous building , with all its grand scientific truths , so faithfully delineated , does not establish its character as an inspired " Pillar ? " If , therefore , the triple testimony , viz ., the Scientific , the
Historic , and the Prophetic , has brought forth the Great Pyramid , and commended it for our acceptance as a divinely-erected monument , intended to be " a witness to the Lord of Hosts " in these latter days—then let us with gratitude accept it as such , and watch with confidence for the great events of the immediate future .
