After the Lodge had been opened and the minutes confirmed , Bros . Salinger , Deering , Lack , W . R . Davis 1422 , and Beanchamp Roorkee ( the latter by the courtesy of the W . ceremonies were excellently and perfectly rendered . It was unanimously agreed that a letter of condolence be sent to Bro . G . A . Dodson P . M . on hia recent bereavement , —the death of his mother . A notice of motion was given in by Bro . M . Alexander P . M ., to be seconded by Bro . L . Alexander P . M ., that the Lodge be removed , and that its future meetings take place on the third Mondays . On this an ame /

idwas proposed by Bro . A . Roberts P . M ., and seconded by Bro . S . Hickman , that the Lodge be removed and meet , as hitherto , on the first Monday in the month . After some discussion this was carried by a majority of eighteen . A vote of thanks waa accorded to the Worshipful Master and those who had organised the removal of the Joppa Lodge . Brother W . Davis was proposed as a joining

member . He , in reply , made a few pertinent remarks respecting his initiation in India , in the year 1873 . He was present in Lodge when the M . W . G . Master visited it . He had been a Doctor in the army , and wished to become an active member of the Joppa Lodge . Shortly after this Lodge was closed , and the brethren sat down to light refreshments , when fifty-five , including Visitors , enjoyed their socalled oflf-night . The customary toasts were done full justice to .

New Concord Lodge of Instruction , No . 813 . —The usual meeting of this Lodge of Instruction was held at the Jolly Farmers' Tavern , Southgate-road , on Wednesday evening last , when there were present Bros . Perl W . M ., Dixie S . W ., F . Perl J . W ., Forge J . D ., Weeden S . D ., P . M . Killick , W . F . Potter I . G ., and others . Lodge was opened in due form , and the minntes of the previous meeting read and confirmed . Lodge was opened in the

second degree , and Bro . Potter answered the usual questions leading to the third , and was entrusted . Lodge was opened in the third degree , and the ceremony of raising rehearsed , Bro . Potter acting as candidate . Lodge was resumed to the first degree . Bro . Dixie was unanimously elected to fill the chair on Wednesday evening next , and the brethren then dispersed , after spending a pleasant evening . The annual supper will take place at the Cock Tavern , Highbury ( Bro . Baker ' s ) , on the second Wednesday in December .

Dalhousie Lodge of Instruction , No . 860 . —Hold at Bro . Smyth ' s , Sisters' Tavern , Pownall-road , Dalston , on Tuesday , 7 th inst . Present—Bros . Catlin W . M ., Robinson S . W ., Clark J .
