Potter was placed inthe chair , and . Comps . Chas .. Holland and Wm . Preisthall in those of H . and 3 . respectively , Comp . Rose performing the ceremony . After the installation' the members sat down to a banquet , andtheri the usual toasts were . honoured , and an entertainment was held , at which Mr . Harrison Hill , of Manchester , was the humorist .

TRUTH CHAPTER , No . 1458 . A MEETING was held at the Mosley Hotel , Piccadilly , Manchester , on Thursday , 24 th ult ., there being a fair attendance of members . Two candidates were announced for exaltation , but as they did not put in an appearance an early adjournment was made to the dining hall , where a substantial repast had been provided by Bro . H . Ross-Cattanach , the host . The" usual festive board followed .

CRUSADERS CHAPTER , No . 1677 . THE Principals of this Chapter , Comps . James Speller Z ., Walter B . Sutton H ., and Reuben Loomes J . presided at the Convocation held at the Holborn Restaurant , on the 22 nd ult ; , ' when Bro ; the Rev . John Henry Rose , M . A . ( vicar of St . James , Clerkenwell ) , P . M . Chaplain of both 1677 and

1964 , Bro . H . Williams , of the Lion and Lamb- Lodge , No . 192 , and -Bro . Leandrb Foppoli , of the Sir Hugh Myddleton Lodge , No . 1602 , and Bro . A . F . Lambert , of the Crusaders Lodge , were exalted in this Supreme Degree . The ceremony was admirably ; rendered by Comp . Speller and his Officers , and evidently made a great impression upon the candidates .

This being election night according to the Bye-laws , the following Companions were elected to the various offices for the ensuing year : —W . E Sutton-M . Comp . James Speller M . E . Z . presented the Chapter Bye-laws to the Companions . The little books are handsomely got up , being bound in soft leather , arid contain an explanation of the Chapter crest and motto , together with list of the Founders and Officers . A vote of thanks was given to Comp . Spell _ for his generous present .

The Chapter was regularly olosed , and the Companions adjourned to dinner , after which a very enjoyable musical programme was given by'Coinp , Egbert Roberts .. ..

: ; V EMPIRE CHAPTER , No . . 2108 . THE installation meeting was held at the Criterion , Piccadilly , W ., on Monday , 7 th inst . The Companions assembled punctually , enabling the Principals E . Warden Dennis Z ., Hermann Klein H ., and James Speller J ., to open theChapter at five o ' clock . - ¦ The Companions were admitted , when the minutes of the previous convocation were read and confirmed . The Balance Sheet , showing a very

respectable amount in hand , was received and adopted . Comp . Hermann Klein proposed the following motion : — " That the regular meetings of the Chapter shall in future be held on the first-Tuesday , in-the months of March and November , and that ' the "Bye-laws be altered accordingly . " - This was seconded by Comp ; Edward Harding , supported by Comp . William Shurmur , and carried nem . con .

The First Principal's Chair was assumed by Comp . Shurmur , who opened the Conclave of Installed Principals , and proceeded to instal Comp . A . Davidson Kemp in the chair of J ,, Comp . James Speller P . Z . into that of H ., and Comp . Hermann Klein as M . E . Z . It is quite unnecessary to state that the ceremonies were most admirably rendered by Comp . Shurmur , his working of the ritual being unequalled . .

Upon the re-admision of the Companions the following Officers were invested : —E . E . Harding P . Z . Treasurer , William Shurmur S . E ., 3 . Sefton Mayors S . N ., Herbert Bunning P . S ., Vincent J . Galsworthy First A . S ., J . Mitchell Courage Second A . S ., Franz Deutsch Steward , and E . Evenden Janitor .

The ballot was then taken , and proved in favour of Bro . Benno Schonberger , who was entrusted and received into the Chapter . This ceremony was ably performed by Comp . Klein , assisted by Comps . Speller , Kemp , and the other Officers . At the conclusion of the ritual Companion Schonberger was invested and decorated , and took his seat as a Companion of the Chapter .

A P . Z . ' s jewel was presented , in the name of the Chapter , to Comp . Dennis , for his services during the past year . Comp . Dennis briefly returned thanks for the compliment . Letters of apology for absence were received from the Grand Scribe E . ( who was consecrating still another Lodge ) , Comp . G . Owen Dunn Deputy

District G . M . of Bombay , and others . Comp . Daniel Mayer , W . M . of the Royal Naval Lodge , was proposed by Comp . Speller as a joining member of the Chapter . There being no other business the Chapter was formally closed , and the Companions adjourned to the banquet room , where a pleasant evening was spent , and the customary complimentary speeches were made and acknowledged . Garrick . —Bro . Brickwell has made special arrangements with Mr . Albert Gilmer , and Messrs . Hardy and Von Leer , for transferring the successful farce , ' ¦ A Brace of Partridges , " in its entirety from the Strand to the Garrick Theatre , on Monday next , 14 th . inst . " 22 a Curzon St . " will therefore be played at . the Garrick Theatre for the last time this ( Saturday ) evening . A special-Matinee will be given this afternoon .

Parkhurst . —On Monday next Mr . Frank Harvey ' s sensational melodrama , " The Wages of Sin , " will be produced here by a strong company , including , Mrs ., Bennett , as Ruth ; and Mr . Ernest Norris , as George Brand . On Monday , 21 st ihst ., Miss Kate Vaughan will make her appearance in the new three-act comedy , " Love and Honour " , by Alexandre Dumas Fils , after trying the same at Hastings for a week . She will also appear in her Well-known monologue , "How it Happened , " each evening .

- The members of .. the Crusaders Lodge , No . 1677 , announce a Ladies banquet and dance , to be held at the Holborn Restaurant , on the 16 th inst . The arrangements are in the hands of Biro . Alfred Goode P . M . Sec .
