THE CRAFT IN IRELAND .

AMETHYST LODGE , No . 206 . ri ^ HB Worshipful Master , Wardens and Brethren of this Lodge gave a very I enjoyable " At Home " on the 18 th February , in the X . L . Cafe , Grafton Street , Dublin . The Brethren and their , friends , numbering about eighty , having done

justice to . a nice tea , in the Ladies Boom , assembled in the spacious dining hall for dancing . The floor and music were all that could be desired . There was no crowding , and the night passed very pleasantly . The gentlemen being in the majority there was quite a competition for the Ladies . Dancing was kept up with great spirit until about 1 * 30 .

Bro . Carty , of tha X . L . Cafe , deserves credit for tho excellent supper , and for the light refreshments so plentiful during the dancing hours . Amongst the Ladies present were Mrs . Durham , tho Misses Durham , the Misses Williams , Mrs . Clarke , Miss Adams , Miss Lettie Hoey , BIrs . ' Power O'Donohoe , the Misses Warren , Mrs . Woods , Mrs . Carroll , Mrs . Levingston , Miss Louie Dobbin , Mrs . Twigg .

Mr . Pratt presided at the piano , and the musical programme was well sustained by Messrs . Maddock , Stoker , Campbell , Clarke , and' Topham , Mrs . Twigg and Miss Louie Dobbin . Bro . Dr . Power O'Donohoe delighted all by his exquisite rendering of " Kathleen Mavourneen . " Thanks are due to , the W . M . Bro . Durham and the Lodge refreshment Committee , assisted by Bro . Woods , for the care and forethought which resulted in such a pleasant gathering .

A very enjoyable dance was given by Masonic Lodges No . 223 and 55 , in the Court House , Monaghan , on Wednesday , the 9 th ult . It was largely and fashionably attended , the guests numbering nearly 150 . The ball-room was prettily draped with flags , the floor was perfect , and the music was all The ladies of the Committee deserve for

that , could be desired . great praise the exquisite taste displayed , tbe catering being admirably managed also by them . Dancing commenced at 10 p . m ., and was continued until four o ' clock in the morning , and under the capable management of Bros . Elliott and Kerr Hon . Sees , the dance proved a perfect success .

There was a very successful meeting of the Epping Lodge , No . 2077 , on Saturday last , at the Royal Forest Hotel , Chingford , when Bro . J . S . Abbott jun . W . M . presided for the first time since his installation .
