A Masonic Imposter.

A MASONIC IMPOSTER .

AT the Police Court , Settle , on Thursday of last week , a man giving the name of Thomas Flint was brought before Mr . J . G . Robinson and Major Stackhouse , charged with bogging . It appeared that prisoner had been a Freemason , and on the strength of that had for some time been on the tramp , obtaining help at the various towns he passed through . On

arriving at Settle he obtained relief from Mr . E . Handley , the Lodge Almoner , but not content with that , he called on several of the members of the Lodge and obtained further help on his representation that Mr . Handley was away from home , and had not relieved him , the money thus obtained being spent in drink . Mr . T . Brayshaw , Mr . E . Handley , and Dr . Buck gave evidence against the prisoner , who was sentenced to a month ' s hard labour .

The Parkhurst Theatre, Limited.

THE PARKHURST THEATRE , LIMITED .

Handel Festival At The Crystal Palace.

HANDEL FESTIVAL AT THE CRYSTAL PALACE .

THE Members of the London contingent of tho Handel Festival Choir have been working very hard at rehearsals , of which four have already taken place . In the Messiah , choruses , and those lor SelectionDay , the choir seemed to revel in their work , Mr . Mann's verdict at the close being that he had never before heard such choral singing . The extra rehearsal , making five in all , was entirely devoted to " Israel in Egypt . "

On tbe Selection Day , the Coronation Anthem will be sung in honour of the Diamond Jubilee , and the mighty array of Solo Artists permits of the inclusion in the programme of most of the celebrated Handelian Arias , which the English public delight in hearing . For instance , Madame Albani will sing , " Sweet Rose and Lily " ( Theodora ) , and " Sweet Bird " ( L'Allegro ed il Pensieroso ) ; Madame Ella Russell will sing , " From mighty kings " ( Judas Maccabseus ); and Madame Nordica , "Let the bright Seraphim "—with Trumpet Obbligato —( Samson ) , and " Hush , ye pretty warbling choir " ( Acis and Galatea ) .

The " coup d ' ceil " will be grander than ever before , owing to tbe removal of the unsightly great stage , and the substitution of tiers of raised seats backed by the Royal and private boxes . Visitors from the provinces will also have the advantage of inspecting the treasures of the Imperial Victorian Exhibition , which is unanimously voted to be the grandest and most interesting exposition of the resources and progress of the Empire ever seen in London since the great Exhibition of 1851 . Numerous special entertainments are provided during the week , Messrs . Brock ' s Firework displays being specially grand this season .

Greenore, County Louth, Ireland.

GREENORE , COUNTY LOUTH , IRELAND .

FEW people know the advantages which Greenore possesses as a place of resort for Tourists . Situated on Carlingford Lough and sheltered by the Carlingford Mountain on the one side , and the Mourne range of mountains on the other , it can boast of natural attractions , which must be seen to be adequately appreciated . To Carlingford Lough , Thackeray ' s words have been applied ; ••Were such a Bay lying upon English shores , it

would be a ' World's WonUui- '; ut if on the Mediterranean or Baltic , English travellers would flock to it in hundreds . " At Greenore there is a very comfortable Hotel , under the management of tho London and North Western Railway Company , at which a most moderate tariff prevails , the inclusive terms for resident boarders being £ 2 IDs per week . Golf links and Club House , Tennis Court and Croquet Lawn , have been provided , and of these residents in the Hotel have free use . Greenore is a convenient centre for

excursions on Carlingford Lough and through the beautiful Mourne Mountains district . Every facility exists for sea-fishing , and there is good river and Lough fishing within easy distance . Passengers holding through tickets between England and the North of Ireland may break their journey at Greenore ; avid a convenient service of trains runs between Greenore and Newry , and between Greenore and Dundalk Junction , in connection with the Great Northern of Ireland Company ' s main line to and from Enniskillen ,

Belfast , and the North of Ireland . The London and North Western Railway Company have recently placed upon their Holyhead and Greenore service splendid steamers , replete with every comfort , whicb perform the Service between the two ports in about five hours . They have also stationed at Greenore a new and commodious steamer , which makes trips along Carlingford Lough at intervals throughout the day , and runs in connection with Messrs . Norton and Company ' s Car service to and from Warrenpoint , Rostrevor , Greencastle , Kilkeel , and Newcastle ( Co . Down ) .

THE ROYAL PALACE HOTEL , High Street , Kensington , will doubtless gain the high reputation of being one of the prettiest and most convenient in London , having a charming view of the Old Palace and Kensington Gardens . The Hotol has been newly decorated , and additional rooms built . The Empress ' s room , in particular , being one of the chief of the new suite—

Greenore, County Louth, Ireland.

to which there is a separate entrance through a fine marble pillared hall—a spacious and elegant ball room , Masonic hall , supper , and other rooms . The cerise tinted pannelled tapesti-y , with pale blue upholstery and white and gold furniture , gives a charming appearance . The decorations and furniture throughout are most tasteful and luxurious , and were designed by Messrs . A VEBY pleasing exhibition of antique Tapestries , Embroideries , Brocades , and other interesting objects—chiefly removed from old Castles , Convents , and similar establishments in Spain , Italy , and elsewhere , is now on view on the premises of Messrs .
