The Grand Master of Idaho recently said that " a good Secretary is a blessing to any Lodge , and a poor one should have a good assistant . " It should hardly be necessary to add that as soon as a Secretary is found to be a poor Officer
he should be relegated to the ranks . There should be no need of assistants . What would we think of any other Officer in the Lodge so incapable of performing his duties properly as to require an assistant ? Make the good assistant Secretary . Let us have no incapacity . A poor Secretary can do a great deal to harm a Lodge by simply doing nothing . A good Secretary , truly , is a blessing , and every Lodge should see to it that it is well blessed . — " Tyler . "

equalled by any charity entertainment in that city . It took the form of a diamond studded medallion from the members of the Lodge . The presentation took place in the Lodge room , where one hundred or more Brethren gathered , as Bro . Fox supposed , to witness the conferring of a degree . Dr . W . C . Wile made the presentation .
