Lemon with five pictures for the adornment of its refectory—a handsomely , illuminated and framed complimentary vote of thanks to Brother Lemon , from the Committee of the Eoyal Masonio Benevolent Institution for Aged Freemasons and Widows of Freemasons , on

account of his Stewardship at the Jubilee Festival in 1892 ; a framed photogravure of the work by E . J . Poynter , E . A ., represent . ing the visit of the Queen of Sheba to King Solomon ; and three smaller pictures of a Masonio oharaotsr , Francis Earl of Moira , 1 st Marquis of Hastings , E . G ., acting Grand Master of England

from 1790 to 1818 j three Royal Craftsmen , the Prince of Wales , Duke of Connaught , and the late Duke of Clarence and Avondale ; and the reception of the Prince of Wales in Grand Lodge as Past Grand Master 1 st December 1869 .

ST . MICHAEL'S LODGE , No . 211 . A FAIR amount of Masonio work was got throngh afc the ordinary meeting of this ancient Lodge , held last Tuesday , at the Albion , Aldersgate Street , E . G ., when the W . M . Bro . Orlton Cooper presided , J aud waa supported by the following brethren : —Bros . William Kirkland S . W ., W . J . Dyer J . W ., P . J . King I . P . M ., Alfred Green P . M ., "Wm . Radcliffe P . M ., F . J . Hentsoh P . M ., Harry Nash P . M .,

The Lodge having been duly opened and the minutes confirmed , the first business was to raise Bro . Albert Henry Coiling ! who having given proof of his proficiency was subsequently

admitted to the sublime degree . Bro . Ernest Charles Collings was next passed to the degree of a Fellow Craft , and lastly Mr . Walter Wm . Colley , having been previously ballotted for and approved , was initiated into the mysteries and privileges of ancient Freemasonry . The various ceremonies ware worked in a satisfactory manner by the

Worshipful Master , who was greatly assisted by Bro . William Radcliffe P . M ., who most efficiently undertook the duties of Deaoon in fche different degrees . The brethren then proceeded to the election ot a Master for the ensuing year , the ballot proving unanimous in favour of Bro . William Kirkland S . W ., who was

congratulated by the W . M ., and he suitably returned thanisABro . Alfred Green was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . Barnes re-appointed as Tyler . The business of the evening being finished the Lodge was closed in perfect harmony , and the brethren adjourned to the dining room , where one of those pleasant evenings for whioh St . Michael ' s Lodge ia so famous was enjoyed most thoroughly .

CHARITY LODGE , No . 223 . THE annual banquet was held on Tuesday , 10 th inst ., at the Fremason » ' Hall , Plymouth . Eighty-seven members of this large Lodge and visiting brethren wero present . COMBERMERE LODGE OF UNION , No . 295 . ON Thursday afternoon , 5 th inst ., this venerable Lodge—whioh will complete the hundredth year of its existence in March next—celebrated the Festival of St . John at its Lodge-room , the Macclesfield Arms Hotel , Macclesfield , when there was a good muster of brethren , though several were absent , from a variety of reasons , who have in previous years been welcome guests at the

Combermere , notably fche respected Provincial Grand Secretary ( Bro . Newhouse ) , fche highly esteemed Town Clerk of Congleton ( Bro . Wilson ) , and his two promnient fellow-townsmen , Bros . T . E . Sheldon and T . Daniel . As a mark of appreciation of his long and faithful services to the Lodge , not only in the responsible position of Treasurer , but in many other equally useful and arduous offices ,

extending over a period of fully 30 years , the Lodge at its meeting in December unanimously decided to confer the honour of W . M . during the centenary year on Bro . Thomas Lookitt , who many years ago " passed the chair , " and his installation was the principal business before the Lodge on Thursday . Bro . J . H . Brookes , was installing Master . Bro . Brookes is known and deservedly

appreciated as one of the most efficient Masons in the county , and it is unnecessary to say that he dischargsd his responsible fnnotions with credit to himself and honour to the Lodge . Bro . Dr . Forshaw , who in December last became a member of the Lodge , whioh he then " visited" wrote a letter of apology for his absence , accompanied by the following lines addressed to the newly-eleoted W . M . : —

This is indeed a most eventful year ; A year that , in the Lodge of 295 , Will in Masonic annals e ' er survive ; And it is well that thou our bark shonld'st steer , For thou hast shown us , by thy past career , Thou art no drone in a Masonio hive ;
