THE MASONIC SCHOOLS AND THE CAMBRIDGE LOCAL EXAMINATIONS
THE results achieved by the pupils of the two Masonic Educational Institutions who competed iu the Cambridge Middle Class Examinations in December last
have just been announced , and are of tbe most gratifying character . In the case of the Girls' School , all who went up succeeded iu satisfying the Examiners , while of the ten juniors four obtained honours . Of the boys—sixteen in number—twelve passed with honours , and the other
four satisfied the Examiners . We thus see that all of the Masonic pupils passed , while the number who did so with honours was exceptionally large . Those who are acquainted with the inner working of
our Schools will not be surprised at this result , as it is felt that everything is being done that can be done to give the orphans under our care a sound and thorough education . The result , however , is particularly gratifying to all
concerned—the subscribers , the tutors , and the Committees—while it affords another instance of the care which the English brethren bestow on those who , through misfortune , are obliged to claim their sympathy . We append a list of the pupils aud the special honours secured
by each . GIELS . SENIORS—SATISFIED THE EXAMINERS . —Mary Norrish , Mona Hennett , Eleanor Sparging , and Clara Kingcombe . JUNIORS—HONOURS—CLASS II . —Julia Harvey , ( distinguished in
